I shot myself in the foot in the absolute most direct way possible in the semi - I had Neliönoir on 5 points after my first listenthrough of the semi but then moved them up to 6 points after a second listen, and that 1 extra point knocked myself out of the final :bratcheeseblock: (would not have wanted to see Coco & Clair Clair missing out though and I 100% expected to DNQ anyway so I'm not mad x)

I had you at 8 originally and then on results day had a relisten to my votes and thought, "oh, this actually should have been an 8"

:bratcheeseblock:

oh my at that semi performance, 4th and getting votes from 19/28 in there - that's incredible! shame about the falloff tbh I think most of my voters carried through, just they were nearly all my voters - what a 100% right semi to land in.

Congratulations Leww, that's a really great winner from you. Excellent hosting all the way through Lindsey and I loved the tarot theme, thanks for bringing us this contest.

thankfully was in the right semi because it could've easily done a hertan or the blarney stone without one of the voters :o

If I had a nickel for every time I came top 15 after nearly DNQing I’d have two nickels

Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice

CATTY queen of winning ha semi

Gosh, 6th! I thought in such a strong semi I'd have scraped through.

It was a cruel one on Sandénia and Cor Lupus as the only two real pure pop songs. I expect the latter would have been top five in Semi 1. Just goes to show how harsh Random.org can be when the draws nearly always seem split down the middle somehow between pop and 'other genres', yet one or two stragglers always get caught in the wrong one.

With that in mind, Sandénia actually did really well in the semi but I can see why it would have more crossover appeal outside core pop voters. Aeroche 6th too! Again, would have landslided the other semi so it's just luck of the draw but it did well in there anyway.

y’all don’t understand how elated I am

I was fighting for my LIFE in that semi and nearly got out of it unscathed so to see such an improvement from semi to final is just a sigh of relief, FUCK YOU RANDOM.ORG

again I really do need to thank Lew for helping me with the scoreboards as I just didn't have the time to to put them together and he is a lot quicker at it than me  Also numbers absolutely boggle my brain.

i'm banning myself from hosting again though, you can still vote for my songs to win but I'll be deferring the hosting duties if it were to ever happen again  I just didn't have the opportunity to put as much into it as I really wanted to, I always thought i'd have a fully fleshed out concept and be able to go all out with the graphics etc but I'm glad some people enjoyed what I could put out! It was fun to do on the whole x

at least we have a professional winner next month

This is literally how I felt last month. I don't know how uhsting did it twice in a row this year — with all that effort too. Hosting is not as enjoyable as it looks

Ooft I can't help but notice even with a great finish, I was just a single point off getting 4th and being at every position in the top 10 :drama: First world problems and all that, nonetheless 5th is excellent and my first time in the top 5 in over a year, I didn't quite expect it, I initially went for Scorpio by the same artist, I was worried this one may be a bit too subtle, but I'm really pleased it's beautiful hypnotic nature impacted others too, many thanks all for the very generous points haul <3 Oh my as well at a semi win! I mean it was a dream draw, that's only ever happened when I was in the top 2 x

And I can't ask for better than my 18 winning, fully deserved, a beautifully cinematic masterpiece from a wonderful artist  Congrats to Leww! Jadakissnia and Fljotavik also made my votes and Taahino was 16th so can't complain at all really, hooray for results that match my tastes for a change (you pop vultures can have it back next month, allow us this once xx)

While the overall quality wasn't as high as other contests this year, I have saved my top 3 as they were all fantastic discoveries, great to see Lookylion do so well with such an unconventional song, would've liked Danaeviia to be a bit higher, as well as a fair few of that bottom 10. FARC didn't deserve last by that much either.

Thanks for the efficient hosting, Lindsey, the quickest final results I can remember!

coming from some experience on being part of the council of hosting song contests outside Buzzjack ;) ;)

Congrats leww! At this point I think we're getting awfully close to needing a quarter-quell with Aeroche winners only lmao.

Thanks everyone who sent points my way: Macromia, Greenfroze, Thelonia, Hushkanukia, Botanikka, Herbilore, Cherion, Hendinia, Altyr, Lexico, Sandenia, Dobago, Ajanaeda, Taahino, Klum, Mothertopia, and my reciprocated 18 pointer Aesthetica!! <33 Also thanks for the commiserations Áskorza, Harmonica, and Persephonia (30th I know, but I'm still counting it because I can and I want to <3)

Amazing contest Lindsey!

congrats to Aeroche for a much belated return to the peak of the scoreboard! very pleasing to see Jadakissnia also get another podium placing and a good few of my other votes making the top 10 (Fljótavík doing so well also a pleasant surprise there). avoiding bottom 10 was my best hope for this edition so I'm glad about that, 1 in 3 of my voters awarding medal points is very welcome, shame Seyetana and Bronze couldn't have done likewise. TY Taahino for the efficient hosting ~
Thanks Addy, glad you enjoyed this particular song enough for points after mentioning the other day that you'd had the artist as a potential before with another song.

TY Josh as well - I need to check out the JLo song that reminded you of the intro of my entry

Tell me you can't hear it!!!!!! The notes are exact.

Thank you for hosting the contest Lindsey! and I'm glad you seemed to enjoy my Taahino inspired entry.

Hushky came second (last)!!!!!!!!! Omfg!!!!

Congrats Leww, what a triumph and I knew the second I heard the song that you got this in bag <3

And Lindsey, you did such a fabulous job with hosting <3

Thank you to our lovely host - I was not able to follow the results as I was at a Three Degrees concert - but I am quite pleased with Lady Blackbird's score!! Thank you to the voters for this amazing song - and 18 points from Persephonia?? WoW! Now please repeat this at PJSC please hehehe

Congratulations to the medalists, well done!!!

I am so happy for you Jade <3 so well deserved!!!

Also I would probably never would come around and sent something like this in BJSC, but I was saving 'Klinge' for UP contest :kink:
