Great subtitle! That ESSEL song sounds decent, more dance hits required for the new year.

wow @ the GloRilla add :o

Gloria Hallelujah Woods!

A quick scan on BBC sounds shows ‘Die With A Smile’ is still getting B-list number of plays this week.
That's interesting. Even with the Chart Show plays taken out it's still being played 1-2 times a day since it was 'dropped'. I know with A List tracks they tend to rinse them a bit post-playlisting as a silver/recurrent track, perhaps they've given Die With A Smile the same treatment, but then it begs why even take it off in the first place

I could believe it was an error if there weren't the usual 15 songs on the B-list. But it could be that they've updated the playlist incorrectly on the website and a different song should have been taken off. For example, I wonder how many plays the Blossoms single has had this week? That would have been the obvious one to remove.

I haven’t seen how many plays they’ve had, but I don’t imagine Blossoms have been removed - they were in the Live Lounge this week.

I should add that when I heard ‘Die With A Smile’ earlier, it was the second song after the top of the hour which is usually a recurrent song. They then played a song on the B-list (Fontaines D.C, which is great by the way).

So I suspect it has been removed, but still basically getting the same amount of plays it would on the B-list.

Wonder what their thinking on that is as I’m sure there’s not the same thing that happens for all removed songs. I’d imagine because it’s in the top 5 of the chart still.
It would be nice to get a refresh into the insight of what goes on in picking the playlist tracks now in 2024 compared to 2012 I think was the last time they did that. It'd make for great social content to see how those meetings are run and who likes/dislikes what tracks. I would imagine within those meetings they decide what becomes a recurrent song after it's dropped too
