Former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond has died :o He was first minister of Scotland between 2007 and 2014 and lead the SNP for over 20 years. More recently, he co-founded the lower profile Alba party of which he was the leader until now.

 

Apparently he collapsed after delivering a speech in North Macedonia today and died shortly after...

Do we know if he collapsed at the actual event, or later? He was a tremendous force n UK politics, like him or loathe him, and he changed the independence debate. Rip. Shocked at this :o

Very shocking news! Without him we’d never have had the referendum and have the foundation for independence that we do now

 

 

 

However, the last couple of years were ehhhhh. Less said about Alba and the policies he was pushing there the better

He was tweeting just earlier today; though for final public words, those are very fitting.

Sad to see this, probably one of the great orators in British politics I’ve the past 40 years, he literally took the snp from the margins to the centre of power in Scotland and British politics.

Touch of the Al-Fayed about him for sure but politically yeah was the whole reason the SNP got huge. Surprising news but he wasn’t the healthiest
