May 18May 18 I hope their career continues to prosper despite the result because they’ve shown such promise! The song was not IT though.
May 18May 18 Just rewatched some performances back and we didn't deserve 0 from televotes, at all. The song is still my favourite from the year and I am obsessed with it. It's just so camp and fun. I'm going to buy tickets for their tour which is at the end of the year.
May 18May 18 They def did not deserve 0 in the public vote and likewise for Switzerland, despite been on the fence about the song myself i have to say its stuck in my head all day today.
May 19May 19 Y’know what I think would have been fun staging for them to do?Something along the lines of those “… Goes Wrong” kinda shows. Like “The Play That Goes Wrong” or “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” kinda thing.Could have been a cool concept for their staging.
May 19May 19 I think if they had more memorable staging it could have helped, like even taking the "went up on the roof, jumped into the pool" part of the lyrics they could have had them performing on top of a building or something with loads of lighting affects, transition it into a pool or something idk, the Disney princess-esque thing was a bit lost on me (I thought the were trying to be posh Powerpuff girls at first 😅) I saw some people from other countries not fully understanding the concept of the song and I can understand why. I mean, you don't need to speak Finnish ( to know what Erika's song was about x
May 20May 20 It’s nice to see them doing interviews after the contest. In previous years if the UK don’t do well no one’s interested and you never hear from them again.
May 21May 21 I do worry that the brief flurry of Eurovision artists getting big UK chart successes in 2020-23 has faded in recent years, Rosa Linn seems destined to just be known for Snap and nothing else, Sam Ryder did have a Christmas song do well but nothing after Space Man has got wide appeal, and you could argue Maneskin had six months to a year of being an absolutely colossal band with several worldwide hits, but today they’re a bit of a 2021 nostalgia act if they’re even still going.Hoping this does ok but it would be sad if we go back to the mid-late 2010s again when chartwise Eurovision really stopped being a big thing for a while.
May 21May 21 They were on with Lorraine this morning and talking about a headline tour they are doing which is "triple the size" of what they did before. And they said they have a new song coming out. They are also doing R1's Big Weekend. So sounds like they're giving it their best to use Eurovision as a springboard to the next level.

Måneskin had great success after the contest albeit the winning song actually didn't do all that much here compared to the two big hits, so Eurovision was basically a great springboard to tell people the act existed.Space Man obviously did well after the great result and riding the wave of that and Sam's charisma. The four top ten hits in 2023 can be partly chalked up to the contest being held in Liverpool and the way bigger hype than usual for the show in the UK. I think we're now back to where we were in about 2019 - the situation is still better than than some years as five entries look like they will make the top 75, including surely a couple in the top 40.It's a shame nothing has truly taken off on Spotify this year, but without TikTok virality, a homegrown success or hosting, or an act with true global star appeal emerging, most years will probably just get a couple of small to middling hits at best.Viewing figures are also down in the UK this year, the Israel situation probably makes it less enticing to watch for some people, the true commercial hits with Western radio appeal like Tattoo were rather lacking this year (Baller is commercial, but ultimately in German so highly unlikely to be picked up by radio), and of course Spotify has of late become slower than ever in terms of people latching onto anything that isn't months old in a big way. So there's a real perfect storm of why any huge hits were unlikely this year I guess, unless something does go properly viral on TikTok.--------I've ordered Remember Monday's vinyl single just now, I like to try and get the UK Eurovision entries physically when they are released. I'm glad that they are so positive and had a good experience. It probably helps that they weren't a huge act beforehand. Mae had had chart success before, while Olly was a big name, so the pressure of the experience and the terrible public score probably affected them more than an act who had no notable fanbase anyway and ended up with a respectable jury score and the biggest exposure they'd ever had. I'd feel like it was a win too.
May 26May 26 I have a question... Maans lives in the UK, and tries desperately to have a UK accent. So, inateas of trying to represent Sweden, in the very competitive Melodifestivalen... whh didn't he just go to the BBC directly? He would have been selected in a second to represent the UK instead.
May 26May 26 what makes you think he will accept the possibility of coming last and a televoting 0, when he couldn't stomach the fact of finishing 2nd in melodifestivalen this year? 😭😭😭
