Spotify's primary Christmas playlist has updated, and I've compared it to last year using https://spotifyplaylistarchive.com/!

Not a great year for British Christmas songs, with Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Coldplay & Band Aid all heavily dropping. I wonder if the massive fall for Band Aid is due to an impending Band Aid 40 single...

Vince Guaraldi Trio have by far the biggest climbing song which is great to see, I'd love it to make the Top 40 this year!

There have been rumours that Band Aid 40 is coming but one of the rumours is that they will be picking the best artists from the previous 4 versions to make a super version. Can't imagine they will choose many lines from Band Aid 2 if true (aside from Kylie perhaps).
Nice jump for Gwen but why have they done Cher so dirty with that drop.

I find it slightly annoying that Lindsey Buckingham’s ‘Holiday Road’ has become associated with Christmas in recent years.

It was originally created for a scene in ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation’ where the Griswold family travel on a summer holiday. In fact, the only ‘Vacation’ film that the song does not appear in is ‘Christmas Vacaction’!

Interesting to see such a big drop for Bublé’s ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’, with the Perry Como version taking its place.

I guess we might not see it make the official Top 10 this year then.

oh my Dasha covering Chris Rea :D

Bublé thing is especially weird considering they moved Holly Jolly Christmas into the top ten, with Burl Ives nowhere to be seen.

Little gutted at some of these drops, as if the British classics weren't falling back enough in the first place! At least Wizzard are moving in the right direction.

I actually thought the Sabrina song would be given a much more prominent placing than that, with the year she's had.

Christmas Crackers is another big playlist in the UK I believe, and is much more UK centric:

If it is happening they should confirm it soon.

The only benefit of these playlists is that it gives songs that weren't big UK hits originally a time to shine on the charts. However it just feels completely wrong to see the Charlie Brown song over the Pogues and the Hawaiian one just below it

Especially with the fact Sabrina has a Christmas special. Maybe if that does good numbers they'll bump up a nonsense Christmas and add buy me presents

if anything this playlist needs to have *even more* Charlie Brown rep tbh :drink: the increased visibility is appreciated tho, Christmas Time Is Here is easily one of the all-time xmas greats <3

The Christmas Vacation song itself is brilliant!

Amazing to see the Pogues so high up this year

Was the Pogues that low last year and yet still top 10??

Yes although a lot of that might be due to Shane's passing.

As is the movement up the list I imagine
