October 28, 20241 yr I'm no expert on how streams are allocated to GH albums when an artist has multiple, will they be redirected to Gold next week if its pure sales outstrip the new compilation? Or is it up to the label to redirect them everytime they wish?
October 28, 20241 yr Are you including 'Hold Me Like A Heaven' in that? Because that was literally their best single in years and totally deserved to chart! Having said that, 'Decline & Fall' is also pretty good. Hold Me Like A Heaven is such a beautiful song 🥹 Fantastic band, but they haven’t been great since Futurology, and I’m not feeling their new singles at all. Also boo at Kylie in the lower 30s, but not that unexpected
October 28, 20241 yr Night Changes looking like it could spend a second week top 10 this time round :o  I'm no expert on how streams are allocated to GH albums when an artist has multiple, will they be redirected to Gold next week if its pure sales outstrip the new compilation? Or is it up to the label to redirect them everytime they wish? Redirected to Gold, it's based on the compilation with the highest pure sales each week (unless otherwise nominated by label I guess).
October 28, 20241 yr Was interested to compare side by side how the songs at the top end of the chart are doing on Spotify and Apple, might give us an indicator how things will look by the end of the week (not including Taste because it's on ACR and therefore difficult to gauge). 01 | Spotify: 01 | Apple: 13 | Sailor Song 02 | Spotify: 36 | Apple: 08 | Disease 03 | Spotify: 08 | Apple: 19 | APT. 04 | Spotify: 35 | Apple: 06 | Somedays 05 | Spotify: 10 | Apple: 20 | I Love You, I'm Sorry (plus live version #144 on Spotify - #5 combined) 06 | Spotify: 13 | Apple: 28 | HOT TO GO! 07 | Spotify: 05 | Apple: 11 | That's So True 08 | Spotify: 31 | Apple: 37 | Thick of It 09 | Spotify: 14 | Apple: 16 | Bed Chem 10 | Spotify: 40 | Apple: 24 | The Door 11 | Spotify: 12 | Apple: 33 | Night Changes 13 | Spotify: 22 | Apple: 43 | Diet Pepsi Would definitely expect That's So True to climb a bit further still, one of the most consistent showings across these songs, very disparate for most others at the moment. Obviously something like Thick of It is also being boosted strongly by YouTube to counteract its relatively mid audio streaming performance at the moment.

Cheers Joseph. Its interesting that the OCC have got an automatic system like that in place for album comp streams but won't go to the bother of doing something similar with artist credits for remixes on the singles chart.
October 28, 20241 yr Which to be fair, reached #1 three years after their most recent release (which was a #2) so I think that'd indicate there's quite a high level of interest! Oh I either didn't realise that or forgot it! I guess that does go some way to explaining it then. Sad to see such a steep drop for Kylie :(
October 28, 20241 yr I’m guessing we might get a Gigi/ROSÉ/Gracie (That’s So True) top 3 come Friday, with Gaga debuting around #5-7.
October 28, 20241 yr APT. for a dodgy k-pop type sales/ streams boost from bots to hit the top spot please!
October 28, 20241 yr Foo Fighters’ streams were switched indefinitely to their Essential album and I very much doubt that outsells Greatest Hits these days on pure sales, so not sure what will happen to ABBA after the pure sales of this collection drops away after the first week! I did envisage this happening but it’s still a shame to see the back of Gold, as I wanted its total sales to keep climbing impressively each year! Also aren’t Madonna’s streams attached to that remix album still? There’s no WAY that is still selling better than Celebration and The Immaculate Collection so it must be up to the label to change it back if they wish to do so. October 28, 20241 yr The Beatles’ streams do seem to switch from “1” to Red / Blue on a weekly basis if one of the latter gets a sales boost, so it does seem that’s the default position without label intervention. In which case “Gold” should be back pretty soon considering that’s a consistent pure seller and the new collection doesn’t look to be doing a lot.
October 28, 20241 yr Gold should be back next week i reckon No surprises the Abba singles compilatiom is doing poorly Who can afford to pay 100 for the vinyl No surprises with Courtneers at @1
October 28, 20241 yr I assume Gaga will debut in the #8-#10 region unless she picks up a bit? Perhaps even a debut outside of the top 10 if she doesn't recover well on spotify. Although I expect the song will rise in the build up to Halloween to give it a mid/late-week boost. Perhaps the music video will be released as well, although not sure how quickly youtube can report the figures for the chart. Edited October 28, 20241 yr by Envoirment

Perhaps the music video will be released as well, although not sure how quickly youtube can report the figures for the chart. I'd be gobsmacked if Gaga missed the top 10 - the bar's going to be quite low so she probably only has to double her current figure to secure top 10, which is definitely doable with four days of streaming still to be counted. See my post further upthread comparing to other songs' current streaming positions too - she'll surely be bumped down a little but I think she'll be quite safely top 10 by the end of the week, missing out is highly unlikely IMO. The data YouTube reports is a day behind, just like Spotify and Apple.
October 28, 20241 yr Based on the sales Courteeners look very safe for number 1 but I can't see them selling much more.

The data YouTube reports is a day behind, just like Spotify and Apple. The #10 last week did ~24k which should be doable. Although I forgot about the 1D entries, so she likely just needs ~20k as they will fall out of the top 10. Ah shame about youtube also being delayed. If she does release a video on Thursday I wonder if the OCC will be able to add an estimate to add the boost before the final chart.

The credit can only be changed if it's never charted top 40 as well even if it's the remix that's giving the boost
