I don't actively choose to play Christmas music, because I get my fill from hearing it everywhere else. So, I start listening whenever others start playing it.

Last year I remember going to Target on November 11th and it was all Christmas music. I don't think it's usually that early but we'll see what happens this year.

I'm not against hearing Christmas songs out and about during November, but I tend to not feel the urge to play it for myself on Spotify until December. I also don't mind hearing Christmas songs during the last few days of December - I don't feel like the festivities need to stop dead after 25th December!

I heard Christmas music in a garden centre a couple of days ago which just felt odd to me!

I still remember the time I heard All I Want For Christmas Is You in my old works cafe in September.

Usually start around 20th November with the new Christmas songs released and then the older ones from 1st Dec, chose to listen until the end of December as well as I hate the capitalist mentality of only building up to things and not enjoying the season itself.

Also chose a new Christmas album each November to rinse that year and usually play it 6-8 times between 25th Nov - 6th Jan (usually give it and the new Xmas singles one last play on the 12th night until next year).

I have one Xmas playlist curated by myself with Xmas songs in order of release 1940s- present which i add to each year. So it starts with White Christmas (1942) and the new songs added last year were as follows:

The Goo Goo Dolls - This is Christmas

Cher - Dj play a Christmas song

Ella Henderson & Cian Ducrot - Rest of Our Days

Mimi Webb - Back Home For Christmas

Piri & Tommy - Christmas Time

And added Sam Ryder this week for this year as it’s only released on apple this week!

I usually start after my towns christmas light switch on which i volunteer at, which is always the final weekend of november! i do have a feeling i will get sick of christmas early this year though, as our towns grotto is right opposite the coffee shop i work at (and it is very ugly oop) so that may make me tire of christmas music sooner as it plays christmas songs on loop lol
I’ll start in December. Maybe a week or so before, see how I’m feeling. I honestly can’t understand how anyone can consciously begin on November 1st.
