Yeah Wham! at 10/1 last year was a goldmine but I'm not interested at all at only 2/1 this year atm (on SkyBet anyway). I'm not the person who would lay down a 3 figure sum just to get back a worthwhile return so it's a hard pass for me until if they get longer.

Very good point about early cash-out for Brenda Lee^ will give that some thought. Saying that, Brenda Lee isn't even on the list for some reason...

I might put a fiver on Robbie and Forbidden Road tbh

I’ll be surprised if it makes the top 40

Wham! are now joint faves with Band Aid @ 6/4 with William Hill.

As Dobbo said, there's no value for money with them this year. :(

Reverend & The Makers now 4th favourite according to SkyBet? Like WTAF  guess we should throw in The Hoosiers and Maximo Park in there as well.

I've actually just seen a campaign vid on Instagram so looks like they're making an effort for it, it's in aid of Samaritans

Indeed - and they’re releasing physicals for it too.

Thanks, don’t know much about it, why is it going for Xmas no1, just because there’s physicals??
It’s just out on streaming platforms now, and purchases from Friday, but from the way it has been billed (Band Aid), it could easily be classed as a remix and combined for the chart with the original.

oh Good God, they are playing christmas tracks on radio 2 today and it's still November.   It can only be a matter of time before they start in bloody October and Mariah Carey starts charting in July.. :teresa:

Of those mentioned, Robbie's new one is lovely, if not entirely unlike Jim Croce's I Got A Name, and the Samaritans video for Reverend & The Makers is moving but also grounded and sort of upbeat. I will be buying it. One of my friends has volunteered for them for years and they do good work.

Just been premiered with Bob on Radio 2. Not bad at all.

Yeah it's the best version since the original I think. Thought it ended a bit abruptly though. It'll do well.

It's one month from today, think you're being a tad over dramatic.

I try not to hear them before 1st December at least. It's ridiculous how it consumes such a long period today, takes a lot of the special fun out of actual Christmas when you're already sick of it by the time it rolls around.

At least in terms of the chart it would be abysmal without them all anyway this year.

I haven't even heard that much Christmas music this year. Tbf though I have avoided town the past few weeks and we rarely have the radio playing at work. Can't people just change radio station if it bothers them that much?

The traditional date is normally 1st Dec especially for a bbc station. So they are moving the boundaries again by a full week.
