November 29, 2024Nov 29 If it can't even get to #1 on iTunes I doubt it will be troubling the top 10.
November 29, 2024Nov 29 I think it'll be a bit sad if it flops really badly. I actually think Trevor's done a really nice job on the new version. I can see both sides in the political debate but the previous versions + Live Aid did raise huge amounts of money and led to other things like Comic Relief. Bob Geldof can be annoying but his heart's in the real place, so I don't think he deserves the indignity of this version flopping. Edited November 29, 2024Nov 29 by AcerBen
November 30, 2024Nov 30 I think this week it will go top 20 with the sales of both versions combined, but that's it. Considering Girls Aloud released a new version of I'll Stand By You for Children In Need, and it didn't make the top 100...I just think too much has changed since Band Aid 30, charity singles are not what they once were. The new version will be number 1 on physical sales, though, but that is about it. I'm fairly certain the original version will actually have more sales this week from streaming points alone, I just don't see any real hype behind this.
November 30, 2024Nov 30 ^GA didn't have physicals, thats why it missed the t100 But how many people buy physicals apart from by their favourite artists? Even the Pogues last year didn’t get a massive number of physicals.
November 30, 2024Nov 30 But how many people buy physicals apart from by their favourite artists? Even the Pogues last year didn’t get a massive number of physicals. Yeah I don't see why it would've sold more than a couple thousand
November 30, 2024Nov 30 Even last year when a few were releasing physicals to make the difference of getting number 1 did any of them sell more than 10k physicals
November 30, 2024Nov 30 Absolute pointless at this stage. I think that whole circus has had its day and even the original might start to become a lot less popular every Christmas
December 1, 2024Dec 1 Why are they ignoring the 1989 Band Aid? Although having listened to it, could I take every line being sung 4 times? No Edited December 1, 2024Dec 1 by Paramore
December 1, 2024Dec 1 This is so so bad! You all should read into this song ..... It's a vanity project for the left and Africa do not want this....
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Why are they ignoring the 1989 Band Aid? Although having listened to it, could I take every line being sung 4 times? No The official line is that they couldn't locate the master tapes to extract the vocals from. But Mike Stock claims he wasn't even asked for them.
December 3, 2024Dec 3 not a chance.if it will be no1 will be only this week .theres a lot of negative reviews and even if it is for charity that wont help a lot
December 3, 2024Dec 3 The Christmas no1 spot is very open this year with several other artists releasing special physical editions of old classic tracks including Wham, Mariah & East 17. I am unsure whether this will reach no1 but it will certainly be top5.
December 6, 2024Dec 6 So it finished at #8 this week. 28,289 combined sales [4,990 CDs, 2,438 vinyl] - which I imagine means it hasn't had a reset? Does anyone know? Though god knows how they work out all the data when new versions of an old song are included...
December 6, 2024Dec 6 Arguably Band Aid 40 hasn't charted at all. It doesn't seem to be doing anything at all on streaming so maybe that version did about 8K?
