I think the lack of remixes etc may just be giving up on it as I don't think it quite did what the label thought it would.

One must wonder what they would've been expecting, it's far exceeded my expectations!

I mean, it's kind of a no-brainer that if it's not getting support from anywhere that matters on Spotify then it's not going to appear in their chart.

I really hope as many people as possible grab a physical copy. I was thinking today (While rewatching her Brits performance for the 800,000th time) we just can't lose someone from the UK that genuinel

I think they were expecting it to be a second Top 10, or at least Top 20.

Big enough to launch the album off the back of it.

The clean version is very commercial pop that wouldn't be out of place on Ariana's latest album.

I posted this somewhere else too but it pretty much sums up how I feel.

Labels simply never learn.

Part of the reason the likes of Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Charli XCX and Raye blew up is because they released full bodies of work, promoted them excessively and gave audiences a chance to connect with them.

This incessant need of only wanting to release an album when there’s a number one single only leads to a case of diminishing returns. For instance, had Normani released her album right after Wild Side there would have been at least some demand for the album and it surely would have done better than it did (despite still being an amazing album). However, chasing that number one hit completely sucked all momentum out of the campaign and by the time the album came out, people simply stopped caring.

Your sentiment is correct just some of your examples are poor, Sabrina was number 1 with espresso and PPP for ages long before the album was released

True but I’d argue that was mostly as a result of her releasing 5 albums before Short n’ Sweet. She created a following that way and was able to successfully tour long before Espresso hit number one.

Hopefully that means they haven’t given up on it just yet!

With a push I’m sure it would easily get back in the top 75.

Like someone said in the album thread, albums are essentially promo tools these days. You cannot tour without having enough music (=album, or equivalent), and artists can add as many songs onto the album afterwards if they wish. SZA and Charli xcx added a whole new albums onto their projects (SOS and Brat). There is ZERO reason why Jade shouldn't have released her album MONTHS ago but here we are.

Surprised, but pleased, that they have made a lyric video.

Guessing it was shot a while ago.

I think maybe a fifth potential week in the Top 100 deserves an extra (half-hearted) push.

Hot Hits are out of the labels hands to a degree but I don’t underrated why they wouldn’t discount the song on iTunes and the physicals to get those extra sales and give the song a bit more life like???

This week, FUFN went #97 (-9). Might be its last week in the top 100.

I'm glad it made it. I did think it would fall as it's fallen a lot on itunes and Apple Music as the week went on.

5 weeks top 100 really isn't bad especially without any HHUK support.

There's definitely some public interest in this as it's at 31 on itunes. I know it doesn't count for much but still gives an indication it's clicking with people.

Acoustic version (Country sounding) out Friday!

This sounds incredible!!!

26 on iTunes! Such a shame streaming isn’t going to plan.

Looking likely! I wonder if the video she posted is the outfit from the performance??

I wish this had come sooner though

The acoustic version is so so so so SO good!

Such a different and unique spin on the song and I think it's paid off!
