In an ideal world, jingle bell rock would be next and both Kelly and Lola would be top 10 but unforch that’s not the case

As much as I have been waiting for Lola to get her well deserved hit, I’ll happily wait a bit longer for messy to go gop 10 if it means Kelly has managed tonight

Biography

Lola Young is an R&B-rooted, stylistically dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose combination of smoky vocals and mature songwriting has prompted comparisons to Amy Winehouse and Adele. Although the South East London native's 2019 debut, the Intro EP, made a significant impression, she experienced her true breakout in 2021. Her atmospheric cover of "Together in Electric Dreams" soundtracked John Lewis & Partners' annual Christmas advertising campaign that year, and she was also shortlisted for the 2022 BRITs Rising Star category, a distinction that affirmed her individuality. Following a handful of singles, including "So Sorry" and "Stream of Consciousness," Young issued her debut album, 2023's My Mind Wanders and Sometimes Leaves Completely. This Wasn't Meant for You Anyway followed quickly in 2024. - Apple Music

Impressive for this to be climbing so fast!! A great track, though I'm glad it hasn't booted Kelly out of the top 10

Omg :cheeseblock:

I have been waiting for this moment since the song came out in mayyyyhh I can’t believe it’s real hearing them announce messy at 11 on the charts wow

So so so so proud omg

Has that French song thingy from Arcane dropped out from Top 20 after 2 weeks, or did I miss it.

Pretty certain it's not to come.

It didn’t have the instant hype that wicked did but the tracks were building during Christmas before exploding in the new year

Well done Kelly :cheer: four years in a row now that one of the Christmas perennials has made the Top 10 for the first time!
Oh after 246 plays of messy according to my stats fm it’s gonna take a while to get used to this wierd clean version lmao

Biography

During her championship season on the first American Idol in 2002, Kelly Clarkson wowed judges and viewers in ways that countless contestants have emulated since but few ever repeated. But what’s most amazing about the Texan sweetheart’s Cinderella story is not how she earned that first burst of reality-TV glory but how she extended her 15 minutes to weather setbacks and forge a career as one of music’s best-loved performers. Clearly Clarkson’s power and versatility as a vocalist were equaled by her determination and resilience, qualities she displayed when she shifted away from pop ballads like her Idol signature song “A Moment Like This” toward spunkier declarations of autonomy like 2004’s “Since U Been Gone” and 2011’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).” Those hits proved Clarkson was just as happy rocking out as she was demonstrating her fervent love for pop, country, and R&B. They also showed how even major-league song doctors like Max Martin had to conform to Clarkson’s style and sensibility, not the other way around. Her eighth consecutive album to debut in the top three spots on the Billboard album charts, 2017’s Meaning of Life was her most confident and well-rounded statement to date. The single “Heat,” an irresistible gospel-house hit fueled by Clarkson’s unbeatable spirit and limitless energy, proved she could cut it as a club diva, too. - Apple Music
