Both Kylie's and Eartha Kitt's versions have made the official top 100 every year since 2016 (Kylie's version even went top 40 in 2017 and 2020), but neither version are anywhere to be seen in the top 100 this year. I'd say that's a definite case of falling out of favour - or maybe they've just been dropped from playlists.
December 15, 2024Dec 15 Surprising that Sir Starmer And The Granny Harmers have only released the one version. I'd imagine they would at least chart somewhere if they played the same game as The Kunts. (and... after quickly listening to the iTunes preview of Beardman I think I'm gonna politely disagree about it not being crap :lol: what is it with these novelty campaigns and beards anyway... I wouldn't be mad if Beardyman was going for a Christmas #1 campaign though, which was what I originally thought this one was before being disappointed)

It's argue that the official chart is almost always dictated by playlisting these days... Looking at this list, I'm wondering if it would be fair to say that (for the Christmas period, at least) iTunes is a fairer reflection of what Christmas music is actually popular in the UK?
