Oh maybe I'm wrong then lol. I'm sure I specifically remembered that the white noise songs had never been certified. (Surely this one should have appeared in the audio streaming chart at some point by now if it was eligible though?)

I'm fairly sure it's never even made the Spotify weekly top 100 before this week!

Edit: actually it has, its peak so far is #52, but it's sure to smash that.

If the limit of 10 streams a day per account applies I wonder if that's why it's not charting officially. Though it probably would've been certified by now anyway
If it is chart eligible it appears it'd be on ACR btw... this particular piece of white noise is dated 29th April 2020 on Spotify. Maybe if the algorithm favoured a more recent 'release' we might have seen it in the chart by now!

That doesn’t explain it not appearing it audio streaming tho

Dream Suppliers need to release a new hit that causes a surge in their back catalogue please and get White Noise For Babies reset :D

I think that can be explained by this particular white noise track only being pushed on Spotify, it's not like proper songs that get played on all platforms

Apple has a different white noise "song" that gets pushed to users, I guess Amazon have another different one too

If someone did an Amazon exclusive white noise track we might see it battle for #1?

Adele - "White Noise"

Keep her legacy going whilst she takes a long hiatus :snif:

All this talk about white noise makes me think of the Disclosure & AlunaGeorge track tbh.

1 Darkoo - Focus on me

2 Little Simz - Hello Hi

3 Red Orange County - Drama

4 Lil Baby, Young Thug Future

8 Ice Spice

9 Morgan Wallen - Smile

The "success" of White Noise and stuff just demonstrates how lot of the Spotify use is for background sounds for different occasions. My friend for instance has "working playlist" which sometimes isn't proper music at all, more like tracks like "White Noise".
What a random decrease on streams for Beautiful Things... he's been consistent on the same streams for a long time (even on new years eve the song didn't increase a lot) and it's probably the song that has lost more streams after that day...

I (sort of) called it! Feels like a different breed of the autoplay stuff that'd get mentioned a year or so ago, just that it's sometimes months and months on end. I've no idea how long this might have been going on for, but suffice to say I've been suspicious of this song for months. "See You Again" also dropped a lot recently, though it's disguised by all the Christmas shenanigans.

Nah the See You Again stuff is legit imo. It got a boost from the new Tyler album and then fell off again a bit afterwards
