January 18Jan 18 Abba and Queen sales are so huge and both will manage at least another platinum certification to add on.
January 19Jan 19 Happy for Kylie’s certs. Joy for Tension selling 100,000 when there’s two 20+ platinum albums though! Tadpole verses whales.
January 22Jan 22 Abba and Queen sales are so huge and both will manage at least another platinum certification to add on. With streaming every song gets more certifications in time. That's what bothers me a bit now. Does it really represent success properly or just time. If you know what I mean? If a #12 peak can go platinum 15 years later, what does it actually mean?

If a #12 peak can go platinum 15 years later, what does it actually mean? It means it's consistently popular and has held up well. It's very interesting to see what's still doing well and what's been left in the past. Certifications from streaming are very interesting, just goes to show that you don't need a high chart peak to be held in high regard.

Most ‘00s hits of that size never even make it to silver. If you get to platinum through streaming it means you’ve really made a lasting mark with that song.

January 24Jan 24 Nice to see Crazy Train go platinum, criminal that it's never been top 40. Now that I think about it does anyone have a list of platinum singles that never went top 40?

Ngl I think it must be a pretty long list at this point. There must be a large number that a multi-platinum. Not sure what the biggest selling is. Either Summer of ‘69 or The Chain I imagine

Either Summer of ‘69 or The Chain I imagine Yeah I've just made an attempt to compile them all but it looks like it's a very long list and there's no way in hell I'm sifting through every platinum certification to find them all  Found all the multi-plat ones anyway, there's 55. Summer of 69 is the only one to go 5x platinum

January 24Jan 24 The 1975 also have several songs that are Platinum without going Top 40: - Girls - Robbers - Somebody Else - It’s Not Living (If It’s Not With You)
January 24Jan 24 A somewhat significant number of those 56 have never charted at all which is impressive. Still waiting for the first year end hit to have never charted on the weekly chart. I Wanna Be Yours was very close to achieving that.
January 24Jan 24 Author Floored at Cascada :cheeseblock: I've just noticed that all of Cascada's top 10 hits are now certified!
