The white noise nowhere to be seen in the official or streaming chart so presumably it is ineligible, which seems a little unfair when RSPB and John Cage counted. Wasn't expecting 'Starburster' to return as well, and 'Favourite' quite close to getting a new peak too *.* Only 8 songs getting new peaks in the entire top 100 in the post Christmas reset week is really poor. There were 19 new peaks in the same week last year and 21 the year before (thanks Dan for posting the lists each week for easy reference)! Worth noting from the singles sales chart this week - Sir Starmer And The Granny Harmers managed to have a chart run of 1-1-1-out *_*

Worth noting from the singles sales chart this week - Sir Starmer And The Granny Harmers managed to have a chart run of 1-1-1-out *_* Two of those weeks blocking Wham! from the sales #1 - if you add in the 5 weeks 'Last Christmas' had at #2 on its original release long before streaming, it has now spent 9 weeks at a #2 peak on a sales only chart.

Gaga and Mars 'Die With A Smile' at 8, and Teddy's 'Bad Dreams' lands at 7, along with 'The Door' at 6, also by Teddy. 'These Days' sees Chrystal at 5, while Gigi's 'Sailor Song' has a huge sales lead at 4! 'Messy' lands a new peak at 3 for Lola Young, while 'APT.' Has a comfortable lead for ROSÉ and Bruno at 2. And heading for her 6th week number one and starting off 2025 is 'That's So True' by Gracie Abrams. NEW ENTRIES: 89 - Scorsese Baby Daddy - SZA (6/10) 80 - I Always Wanted A Brother - Braelyin Rankins/Theo Somolu (1/10) Out of the whole cast who sung this, only one could sing, and that segment lasted for around 20 seconds, the rest of the 5 minutes. Unbearable. I don't know if Disney is going bankrupt or what, but this is NOT it; worst of all, it's also part of a 38-song album. 😐 The only person who will like this is a toddler; the irritating "BRUTTHAAA" sound in the song is so haunting... eugh. Disney, you've lost your magic. 74 - 30 For 30 - SZA/Kendrick Lamar (6/10) Previous first listen: Featuring on SZA's Lana album, this marks yet another collaboration between SZA and Kendrick. I'm going to go ahead and call this out for being boring. SZA and Kendrick have finally lost their chemistry together and just sound like their usual selves, but toned down and disappointing. Everyone hyping this up is just going along with the crowd. 63 - Push The Tempo - Sub Focus/Katy B (6/10) Good drum and bass! This had high energy that's great for a dance and would fit inside a quality EDM dance mix with ease! I think it could do better with a bit more push and kick, but this fits finely! 58 - Filthy Rich - Ella Henderson (7.5/10) After me hearing multiple radio plays and remixes of this, it has finally entered the chart! It's fun to see Ella experiment and move into new surroundings with a folk environment! I think she does this well and makes a radio friendly single that's not just mainstream pop garbage, it also has feelings of embrace and happiness that reflect well into the lyrics and the listener! It's a great bid to give Ella a hit, and I hope this climbs in the coming weeks! 44 - BMF - SZA (7/10) Previous first listen: 7/10 Second listen: SZA's 'Lana' album didn't make as much of a chart splash as I thought it would; a great single like 'BMF' only lands at 44. The pulse on this is timed so well and makes the song an instant hit with the R&B and soul's catchy hook.
