I guess “Teenage Dirtbag” isn’t that surprising in the context of it being #74 on Maestro’s Spotify YTD, but that wasn’t on my radar at all.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Shame Indigo couldn't make the half-year point. Was half expecting Teenage Dirtbag as its been in and out of the overall streaming chart all year but not this early...

After a proper look at the list I have a lot of cleaning up to do at the lower end for my estimates- I have a 9k gap between 86 and 85 which can't be right

How is 'Denial is a River' on 321,000 for this year but on 320,000 including last year?

Removed the total as it’s confusing but it’s because the total is rounded to 10k and I don’t think it did anything much until this year.

Pay attention Jessie! We get this all the time 😁

Very proud of that March prediction that Dakota (previously: #40 in 2005) would make an appearance at some point - hope it manages to hold on, great song.

Teenage Dirtbag (previously: #9 in 2001) joins The Sound of Silence as the only 2 songs on the YTD that haven't charted on audio streaming this year.

Second appearance this year for Another Love (previously: 2013: #86, 2021: #75, 2022: #27, 2023: #21 and 2024: #64) having appeared between weeks 3 and 12 earlier in the year.

Starting to look very clear that Not Like Us will finish worse this year than last which is a bit of a surprise.

Next week is fairly straightforward I think - Blessings should replace Red Wine Supernova, there's some other new stuff on the way in the coming weeks too, so hopefully the chart will get a bit fresher.

Am I right in saying there’s still 5 songs on track for a second year of a million sales? I know the sales might drop off before year end but it would be unprecedented if it continued. Benson looking the most likely to achieve it, and join an exclusive club atm though.

Correct!

Benson is all but guaranteed now (doing 24k per week and only needs to average 13.5k from now on).

Billie needs to average 13.6k to the end of the year and did 19k last week - pretty nailed on.

Chappell needs 14.6k per week and doing 18k - less sure but decent chance.

Teddy needs 16.8k per week and is only 1k above that so looking less likely, though the longevity so far has been crazy so you never know.

Sabrina is doing 17k and needs to average 17k so very likely to fall short, though new material could give a small boost.

What a depressing list. I’m hoping the second half of the year freshens the list up a bit

Some exact numbers from Music Week/Official Charts Company:

1,095,807 Ordinary

996,063 Messy (Total: 1,174,749)

942,000 APT.

820,000 That's So True (Total: 1.25M)

812,000 Pink Pony Club

760,000 Die With A Smile

680,923 The Days

505,924 Nice To Meet You

476,805 Stargazing (Total: 1,489,504)

I love Dakota, but I think it's an extremely worrying sign that all three of the new/re-entries have not charted on the singles chart this year. That puts the total number of non-charters on the YTD list up from 9 to 12. Compare that to only 13 songs released in 2025 that are on the actual YTD list!

Also I'm not tracking this year (or at least, yet...) but I'm surprised Belong Together and A Sky Full Of Stars haven't been mentioned on this forum as songs that could go anytime soon. Surprised they made it to the halfway mark!

Capaldi's reign of terror should continue for a while longer as I think Someone You Loved is doing better than all of the above currently.

I did mention Belong Together as being in trouble a couple of weeks ago

Interesting to see how well Sabrina's Taste has performed this year vs. Please Please Please, despite the latter having more sales overall.

3 months head start will do that when it had some good opening weeks, taste is definitely the more popular long runner

I did the calculations and Ordinary should surpass 2 million when is the last song to do that?

Blinding Lights did 2.2m in 2020

I think that "APT." will end up overtaking "Die With A Smile"'s overall units by some time in the autumn.

Blessings finally giving us another 2025 release in the YTD this week, Red Wine Supernova out. There may be potential re-entries on the cards for I Remember Everything and/or Pink Skies at the expense of Another Love and/or Teenage Dirtbag. Looks Like Someone You Loved is safe for another year now...
