Another Love is the only re-entry this week (previously: 2013: #86, 2021: #75, 2022: #27, 2023: #21, 2024: #62)

It joins Dancing in the Moonlight (which must somehow have a great premium ratio, I assume Amazon) and Not Like Us as songs yet to chart on audio streaming this year to be in the YTD.

Chasing Cars and Seventeen Going Under have now charted on audio streaming.

505 and Ransom still haven't left the audio streaming chart but are yet to chart here.

I do think 505 will enter next week however along with Wake Me Up.

Other possible entries include The Sound of Silence, Wonderwall and maybe Feel Good Inc. but I'm guessing tbh, any random oldie could turn up really.

"I Remember Everything" out before "Dancing In The Moonlight" :o

Doechii did a lot better in week 1 than I expected...

Not too surprising based on Spotify, I Remember Everything (and Something in the Orange for that matter) have dropped off significantly post Christmas. Luckily Pink Skies is still doing well, would be great if that could hold on all year somehow.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in looking at this (or maybe it’s just me)? In the streaming era the EOY chart has appeared heavily biased towards songs released/peaking in the first ha

Just had a go at a full top 40, week 14 2024 to week 13 2025. You're pretty much bang on with your sales estimates, just had to change Hot To Go (it would've done a few sales in 2023 so its total woul

Dancing in the Moonlight is now the only song in the YTD to not have charted on audio streaming yet this year.

This is another one I think also made some year-end too 200s in the 00's. Or at least 1 I'm pretty sure.

It will have made it in both 2000 and 2001 with its gargantuan chart run.

There are other songs heading for the exit more swiftly actually - I can see it lasting a couple more weeks.

I also suspect the 2000 position doesn't include its initial release and it should really have been Top 100 both years...

Both releases are combined in the same chart run on the OCC website, so I don't see why they wouldn't be

I'm honestly sure it came back in the mid/late 00's after downloads started counting for the chart.

For context I found some website years ago that had PDFs of the year-end top 200 (250 for some years) and they looked like it was officially from the OCC. From the late 90s onwards. My old laptop I downloaded the PDFs on is destroyed but I used to read those charts occasionally so I have vague memories of them.

So my vague memories could obviously be wrong, but I think it had a 3rd year in the top 200/250 later on. Sorry to be a pain lol. It would be cool if it makes it this year, its such a classic.

And I really wish the OCC would publish longer year-end charts to the public. I understand their reasoning that they want it to be the same size as the weekly charts, but also, who really cares? A year is a pretty long time. I'd like them to go back to top 200 for year-end, if not more.

I presume you are aware of this but in case you're not, the song was released last year and was already starting to gain traction in the US in December so it will have had fairly decent sales in the UK for the first week of the year when it wasn't charting, just blew up a lot more after the video dropped.

Doechii must have been very close to the official Top 100 in Week 1 with about 4.5k - I think that was the surprise, rather than that it sold anything at all.

Indeed there should be a change at the top soon.

Entered this week:

505

The Sound Of Silence

Constellations

Left this week:

Dancing In The Moonlight

Unwritten

Not Like Us

RIP Dancing in the Moonlight.

About time for 505 (previously #64 in 2022 and #82 in 2023). This leaves Ransom as the only song to have charted on audio streaming for every week but not be in the YTD.

In fact all of Arctic Monkeys' back catalogue got a boost last week (maybe due to the Hozier cover going viral).

Dancing in the Moonlight and Not Like Us leave without having charted on audio streaming, leaving Another Love and now The Sound of Silence (#95 in 2024) as the only songs in the YTD not to have charted on audio streaming yet this year.

GBP is the only guaranteed entry next week imo, but it could be joined by some combination of Do I Wanna Know? (Hozier), Feel Good Inc. and Wonderwall.

Not 100% sure Hozier's Do I Wanna Know has done enough to enter this week. GBP definitely has, I have Taylor Swift dropping out for it, with Sophie E-B and Snow Patrol on the chopping block if Feel Good Inc and/or something else wants to enter

Agreed that Hozier could go either way.

I actually have I Can Do It with a Broken Heart a bit safer (but I could definitely have overestimated it). I think You've Got the Love could be in trouble along with Murder on the Dancefloor and also maybe Scared to Start.

Djo will be in trouble soon too.

Messy now at #1 with roughly 235k done this year so far. That’s So True at #2 and APT. at #3.

Rough estimates for the top 3:

1. Messy - 235k (420k overall - rounded to the nearest 10k)

2. That's So True - 233k (660k overall - rounded to the nearest 10k)

3. APT. - 230k (590k overall - rounded to the nearest 10k)

Very close between the 3 right now.

Yeah Messy going to get a big lead we will see what releases in the future can challenge if any

It was looking quite steady but then crashed 79-92 last week so on that form could be straight out.
