Anna von Hausswolff is a Swedish singer-songwriter whose 'Stardust' comes from her seventh album 'Iconoclasts' which was appropriately rated 7/10 by the internet's busiest music nerd. She is known for the use of the pipe organ in her music and also duetted with Ethel Cain on the album's most popular track. This one delivers a powerful vocal performance and tense soundscape, very much one that will stand out as the first to perform in the second semi-final where it has been drawn. We've been granted safe passage through the strait of Pop-hoemuz to la République d'Áskorza this month where we've sent progressive rock band Lux Terminus. It is a certified Ohio moment for Danæviia as they are indeed from the city of Cleveland. Uniquely for a band of their genre they aren't guitar driven instead this track is very heavily piano and synth focused. 'Electrocommunion' is an instrumental piece that opens their 2018 debut album 'The Courage To Be' (after a brief prologue). Certain users will be glad we did not instead opt for the album's title track which has a runtime of 21 minutes. With 1600 listeners on Spotify they are one of our most obscure finds however we think the song is a real hidden gem - it currently spends its 5th week atop the Danævii official chart. With its racing energy we reckon this may go down well with fans of the music of Mario Kart, but can this get us past the finish line first? We have sent the studio version to the contest, though we also recommend a watch of the Covid-era home performance recording that visually showcases the musicianship on display in the piece.
