Posted March 13Mar 13 SoundClash returns with cover songs from the 21st Century going head to head with each other.Shall we let a couple of female artists battle it out this time? In that case, let's revisit music originally recorded by Cyndi Lauper!Battling it out this round is bubblegum pop Lolly vs. big ballad pioneer Céline Dion! You decide! Here is what we have had so far in this series of SoundClash;Five vs. Robbie Williams in a battle of the Queen coversAlien Ant Farm vs. Fall Out Boy in a battle of the Michael Jackson coversMad'House vs. Kelly Osbourne in a battle of the Madonna coversA1 vs Milk Inc. in a battle of the A-ha coversNo Doubt vs. Weezer in a battle of the Talk Talk coversScissor Sisters vs. Eric Prydz in a battle of the Pink Floyd covers
March 13Mar 13 Easy one for me, I thought the Lolly cover was a bit generic and crap.Celine obviously turned in a powerful vocal for her take on this so that alone wins it for me.
March 13Mar 13 I didn't even like that Lolly cover at the time, and I liked all sorts of trash in the year 2000.Celine has this one.
March 14Mar 14 I did feel a little bit like 'I Drove All Night' was a lazy cover, but it will take a lot for me to vote against Celine
March 14Mar 14 Poor Lolly, first her debut gets downgraded from a #6 hit to a #7 due to previously missing chart data, then she gets trounced in one of these polls. I don't think Céline's cover of the Roy Orbison original is her best moment, but it doesn't need to be really to win here.
March 14Mar 14 Lolly vs Celine Dion. There's something you didn't expect to see.I hadn't heard the Lolly version before and, although Girls is an awesome track, I have to go for Celine.
