I’ve been wondering why I liked the song when I didn’t really care for anything else by him outside of deep cuts "Cry" and "Drunk", then saw a YouTube comment that said it's basically a One Direction song from 2013 and it clicked for me.

Obviously a favourable comparison in my eyes, not that I can really hear 1D in it myself! Perhaps lyrically it could have been, production-wise it doesn't feel very 1D to me!

Joseph doesn't like me saying this but 'Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else' reminds me of Tom Grennan more than anything else. (Can definitely hear some Harry Styles in it too)
