I'll ask down my local tonight why ordinary streams are down

Not to pile on more, but do think in general it's a folly to only stick to the subsidiary chart that best presents the narrative. Last week the song was #5 on the official streaming chart but only #14

What's TT? New Myles Smith?

on Apple songs take like 12 hours minimum to show up and thats with new music Friday playlist support,

don't think mid-week releases usually chart on Apple

the Lorde song is great but obviously is not a 10 weeks at #1 kinda song like As It Was or Bad Habits

I’m sure Ed will be making room in his award cabinet for the 3 weeks at number 3 trophy

He got all the other records be a new one for him 😉

I wish Lorde dropped at midnight tonight!

I still think it may do decently enough though. Once it’s actually Friday it’ll get the new music Friday playlists push with any luck.

I think it might stand a chance at a top 40 entry possibly? I hope it does something it’s a decent enough track. Hopefully there’s strong playlisting for the track and a streaming push.

There is a middle ground you know...

Anyway, there should be some hype around the new single because Ribs had its best day on Spotify to date (862k).

Yes, just take a look at her discography, just 4 top 40 hits and nothing even close to the top 10 besides her debut Royals!

I still recall Green Light was super unlucky, was released same day as Ed Sheeran-Divide

otherwise it would have peaked much higher, #20 is a travesty for such a gem!

Urgh don't remind me. "Green Light" debuted at #28 - would've been a #15 debut if the 3-track rule existed. It didn't peak until a few weeks later at #20 though when the Ed songs died down a bit.

The new Lorde song sounds nice. I really loved "Solar Power" though, so doesn't quite live up to that. "Mood Ring" should've been a big hit from her last album.
