Jet-lagged and carrying a cup of tea, he sits down at his laptop and begins writing a song about the moment right in front of him: the crisp air, the birdsong, the hot tea, the day ahead. Sheeran gets a full verse in, melody and all, and then pauses. “Songs are weird things,” he says. “How so?” an interviewer asks. “They just come and go,” Sheeran says, smiling. “And they never give you any warning.” For Sheeran, songs have come rather reliably since he started writing in his youth. Born in 1991 in Halifax, he started out gigging on the pub circuit before releasing his first studio album, +, in 2011. Sheeran kept up the mathematical theme on subsequent album titles as he became one of the most unstoppable singer-songwriters in music, forging a light, polished blend of folk, pop and hip-hop that feels bittersweet and redemptive, intimate yet universal. Whether on his own songs (“Sing”, “The A Team”, “Shape of You”, “Perfect”) or in collaboration with artists such as Taylor Swift, Chance the Rapper and Beyoncé, Sheeran strikes a chord that feels good-natured and genuine: he’s the hopeless romantic who isn’t afraid to be vulnerable and show you his heart. Perhaps even more important, Sheeran isn’t afraid to take chances. His 2021 smash “Bad Habits” dabbled in modern dance-pop, while in 2023, he performed an Apple Music Live session in London and released two albums: −, a vulnerable album about grief and depression; and Autumn Variations, featuring collaborations with Aaron Dessner of The National. - Apple MusicTop 100 Chart History2011 03 The A Team -1- MILLION SELLER2011 35 Hush Little Baby (Wretch 32 feat. Kayleigh Rose Amstutz (born in 1998 in Willard, MO) began posting cover-song videos online in her teens, and after releasing her first EP, School Nights, in 2017, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her pop-star dreams. In early 2020 she connected with producer Dan Nigro, and that April she released “Pink Pony Club,” a torchy ballad about thriving at “a special place/where boys and girls can all be queens every single day.” Roan released a smattering of singles, including the writhing “My Kink Is Karma” and the yearning “Casual,” before putting out her first full-length, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, in September 2023. Roan’s unbridled, lusty pop songs became an online phenomenon—or, as she might put it, a “femininomenon”—and she hit the arena circuit when she opened for Olivia Rodrigo on the latter’s GUTS tour in early 2024. - Apple MusicTop 100 Chart History2024 02 Good Luck, Babe! -NAS- MILLIONAIRE2024 31 Red Wine Supernova -3-2024 04 HOT TO GO! -4-2024 01 Pink Pony Club -1-2024 44 Casual -2-2025 02 The Giver -1-1 x #1 | 4 x Top 5 | 4 x Top 10 | 4 x Top 20 | 5 x Top 40 | 6 x Top 100Social Media Chappell Roan
