Sorry, I wasn't clear. he also tweeted at the same time about how people on Twitter were being hostile, mentioning sabrina by name. Didnt tell anyone not to send hate Sabrina's way while she's getting far worse tweets with way more likes. Made sure to do just enough to get sympathy for himself while making Sabrina's fans look bad

Ah right. I can still lean to understanding where he's coming from because in my limited experience of getting to be the centre of attention like this (and moreover, talking to people who've experienced it more viscerally), it's genuinely taxing on all faculties. I wouldn't be surprised if this chart battle wasn't even on his radar (he's already hit #1 after all), until he just got inundated with vile messages by people who don't know what grass looks like. I do agree that there's some level of responsibility on celebrities to keep their fanbases in check (or at least not stoke the flames), but I'd be surprised if the lion's share of Sabrina's hate messages are coming from ardent Alex Warren stans (not necessarily insinuating the other way either, Twitter's just a cesspit of bad vibes). He's probably not seeing the stuff that gets said about her anyway.

I've just heard two girls in Starbucks in Grimsby singing the "is it... stupid or is it... slow?" part of Manchild, so it's official. Manchild is TAKING OVER the coffee community, so I think it's on

  • I've been much less successful at chart predictions in 2025 (so far) than last year but this is a bit freaky! today's Spotify chart: 193. The Stranglers - Golden Brown !!! I assume this has to be

Ordinary had a good run it went #1 on March 21 but on June 10th its days were numbered. RIP to the record. Bryan Adams is looking down pleased

What on earth is going on with Let Down? I think it's one of the best songs ever recorded, but really dislike Tiktok virality putting old songs in the chart (dislike Tiktok in general tbh, very Farenheit 451). So I'm conflicted!

Either you think he's dead or you think he's a rock god, I'm not sure which...

Manchild now number 1 on Spotify. Hope it stays there and if it doesn’t go number 1 on Friday, it should get there next week so long as it holds number 1 on Spotify

Im still fuming that he pretended to be 18 in the summer of 69 when he was only 9 🤣🤣

No I thought he was dead but he is a legend too glad he is alive.

So I looked up this tweet emails was talking about

It’s literally just a normal guy who’s baffled by his first encounter with toxic stan twitter not much more to it. Really he should have released the acoustic version everybody has been waiting for that but I guess he’s content with 14 combined weeks at #1

He got number 1 both sides of the Atlantic i personally dont think the guy gives a shit whether its 100 weeks or had its time now, as much as I dont like Ordinary the guy seems humble

who'd have guessed Radiohead getting a hit single in 2025 (that isn't a Creep resurgence) eh, certainly one way to make the chart more musically interesting I guess.

yay for MK quickly taking off too, hope we get to see him chart top 10 along with Max Dean and Calvin Harris to have three summer dance smashes

not as enthused about Olivia Dean's one taking off but it's, ahem, nice enough

could've really done without the big Sabrina resurgence though, guess that song's going to stick around for a long while then and dethrone Alex W officially

I think we both know the "summer of 69" wasn't about the year of 1969 P

if Manchild succeeds, the Bryan record for consecutive weeks would be safe

but Ordinary could still break the record for non-consecutive weeks (hopefully not)

Even if he breaks the record for non-consecutive weeks, Wham! will eventually overtake both Alex and Bryan

from Genius:

“Summer of ‘69” is the fourth single from Bryan Adam’s fourth album, Reckless. Written by Adams and Jim Vallance, it was originally titled “Best Days of My Life”. While “Summer of '69” does tell a story of a young man, potentially set in 1969, it was actually written about “making love in the summertime”, hence using the number “69” as a reference to sex.

:D

Bryan is from 59 so was 10 in 1969 :D
