I’ve been monitoring live Premier League match results to get a better feel for which teams are actually building momentum rather than just looking good on paper

It helped me spot a couple of surprises last season, so it might be handy while you’re weighing up early predictions

I REALLY wanted that goal to stand, I REALLY want Spurs to go down. I’m furious they benefitted from Villas weakened team as I really thought it was gonna happen. I don’t know where West Ham are going to get points from, it will be mad to see them in the Championship again.

Yeh the goal for West Ham should have stood, ref gave it on the pitch and if they are looking at the foul on Raya then there’s loads of fouls on west ham players as well on every set piece

Whilst it’s not the most outrageous decision I’ve ever seen… goalkeepers are by FAR the most protected when it comes to decisions like that, they will always rule in favour of goalkeepers being impacted and honestly it’s ridiculous.

Yeh 100% agree, my annoyance is the fact if you relook at every instance through a game there’s loads of fouls all the time. In that frame alone Rice and Trossard were holding West Ham players - so is that not a penalty?! No, you play away and the ref gave the goal until var intervenes.

I think this is what gets me too, I think it probably is a foul, but there have been countless goals conceded this season similar to this one that refs just let go. |Just because a player lets go of the keeper, it doesn't mean it won't have affected them. The Premier League wants to see this product and ultimately they've got their wish.

Doesn’t help that the irony is that its arsenal who’ve made a name for themselves playing exactly this way the past two seasons. They have the most goals from set pieces from exactly this sort of skull duggery.

Also seeing the arsenal fan with the champions shirt in the crowd angered me a lot 🤣

I think it is what is at stake that made the goal get cancelled, this decision could essentially decide who wins the league. If this was matchday 7 of the season for example that goal would have stood no doubt. The officials know that it would never be forgotten by Arsenal fans if it stood and in the case of West Ham the damage might already be done even if they were to have won this match.

Whatever happens though it has been an entertaining title race this season and it's good that both teams didn't win every week, this is how a title race should be if you're not supporting any of the teams involved in it. The results have not been to the detriment of the league as a whole unlike other title races where the opponents keep losing every week to the title challengers and then you end up with two teams having 90+ points.

Arsenal defender Ben White will miss the rest of the season with a knee injury and is set to miss out on England's World Cup campaign.

The 28-year-old picked up the injury in the first half of Arsenal's 1-0 win at West Ham on Sunday and was seen leaving London Stadium in a knee brace.

In a statement, the club said White has sustained a "significant medial ligament injury" which will rule him out of the last two Premier League games and the Champions League final on 30 May.
