We are back at 4pm tomorrow! Quite an accumulation of bonuses to get through in the first couple of sessions, but we'll still cover 7 weeks of 1983 in each.

Bruce Springsteen - Born In The U.S.A.

The Cure - In Between Days

The Damned - The Shadow Of Love

Madonna - Into The Groove

Trans-X - Living On Video

The Damned another great discovery this week, also not sure I've heard this version of 'Living On Video' before (I've heard a cover version by Pakito). Next best songs I already knew are Harold Faltermeyer, Tina Turner, The Cult, Dire Straits and Eurythmics and next best discoveries were Elton John, David Bowie and Redskins.

I playlisted a similar number of songs overall as the last couple of weeks but had more songs that felt worthy of naming so a higher standard amongst those that I did like, but still a fair bit of mediocrity to wade through.

Eurythmics - There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)

Tears For Fears - Head Over Heels

Tina Turner - We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)

Billy Idol - White Wedding

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary

Trans-X - Living On Video

Tina Turner - We Don't Need Another Hero (Thunderdome)

The Pointer Sisters - Dare Me

Madonna - Into The Groove

The best:

Opus - Live Is Life

Trans-X - Living On Video

Brooklyn Bronx And Queens - Genie

Dire Straits - Money For Nothing

Maze Featuring Frankie Beverly - Too Many Games

The worst:

The Pointer Sisters - Dare Me

Madonna - Into The Groove

Gary Moore- Empty Rooms

Tina Turner- We Don’t Need Another Hero

Trans-X - Living on Video

OMD - Secret

Also love I’m on Fire, Axel F ,Crazy For You,In Between Days

TOP 5

Trans-X - Living On Video

Madonna - Into The Groove

Opus - Live Is Life

Jaki Graham - Round And Around

Fine Young Cannibals - Johnny Come Home

NEXT

Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark - Secret

The Conway Brothers - Turn It Up

Trans X Living on Video amazing for 1982 originally and an influence for 90s eurodance I think. Into The Groove by Madonna is one of the catchiest songs ever. Life Is Life by Opus is a great Austrian singalong drinking anthem and used for football too. Round and Round is such a lovely Whitney-esque dance pop song. Johnny Comes Home is great dance song like house with the piano and good funky guitar too.

Its a pity I don't have room in my top 5 for Secret, its one of my favourite OMD songs I like the synth riff as chorus idea {Spagna - Call Me maybe influenced by this}. Turn It Up by Conway Brothers a good sort of proto-house song.

I definitely wouldn't say that, but I am so used to the fab 00s dance version that charted in 2007 that the original sounds slow and clunky. Same with 'Dr Beat' a few batches ago.

Frankie by Sister Sledge is far more cringe especially the video.

I didn't think much to the dance version either. I've probably picked the Pointer Sisters as the worst song every time they've appeared, I really can't stand them. Won't be picking them again though because this was their final Top 40 hit. Agree "Frankie" is terrible but I gather it's supposed to be.

Coming at 4pm, we have 42 new songs from the next 8 weeks of 1985!

If you've turned up already, you might need to set your clocks back to GMT, but I've stuck some songs on now anyway happy

Bloooming hell, "If Iiiiiiiii Was Aaaaa Moderatorrrrrr" I would make it a little bit less rushed we are really going though this.

I haven't joined the synctube sessions though I have just followed the songs on here.
