Also a great goal from Van de Ven scored after running from near Tottenham's penalty area right up to the other end of the pitch. A good week for special Champions League goals!

Nice to see a few new names making it into the Champions League, with Kairat and Pafos making it in!

The Celtic result is an embarrassment for Scottish football. For context, Kairat are ranked 68 places lower than the team I support in Scotland (St Johnstone) and we got relegated last year to the second tier of Scottish football. Celtic really did blow it, fair play to Kairat, they played well and stood strong throughout the 2 legs but on paper Celtic should really be sweeping them aside.

Also, just on a side note would anyone be interested if I potentially opened a thread for the Scottish leagues? I totally understand it probably doesn’t interest most people as the biggest leagues are down south but just wanted to put the idea out there

I wouldn’t be opposed to it in the slightest, it’s a good league and I enjoy the old form rivalry!

Celtic should have won but the Kazak Champions(normally Astana) regularly reach this point and get beat so not surprising a uninspired Celtic team who’ve spent 300k all summer have found it too much to get through.

Congratulations to Qarabag, FC København, Club Brugge and Benfica, the last teams to make it into the champions league!

A humiliating night for rangers, 6-0 on the night and 9-1 on aggregate

What a goal for Jaja to put FC Pafos into the league phase for the first time and in the last minute too!

Ridiculously hard group for Liverpool, least Trent will inevitably return to anfield to sit on the bench 🤣

It’s honestly so confusing, I understand how the table works itself (straight through, play off, knocked out) but the actual fixtures are confusing as hell

Think they just make it up to get some big games together each round!

Liverpool have no BALANCE this season, another late winner tonight!

There's definitely room for improvement. Certainly in our play you can tell we are getting used to patterns as we play patterns and then either over/under hit a pass or the player is not there. But well worth the vuictory tonight.

The way I understand the draw is the 36 teams are divided into four pots based on UEFA coefficient, then you get drawn a home and away match from each pot.

Rashfords second goal was unreal!

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has been given a one-match ban for "unsporting conduct" by Uefa following his clash with Liverpool supporters at Anfield earlier this month.

Haaland scored his 50th goal in 49 CL games in the first league phase matchday. He is the quickest player to reach that milestone beating the record set by Ruud van Nistelrooy who took 62 games to do it.

Very poor result for Liverpool tonight in Turkey, now loosing back to back games. They go to Chelsea on Sunday at the bridge which could be quite a tasty game (with Chelsea being the english team I support 👀)
