June 19, 20205 yr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv4MYqzg-P4 There’s a lot of buzz around this in Ireland. Una about to get that first Irish number 1!
June 19, 20205 yr Another classic! I kinda forgot what a great run of singles they had. They were definitely flying the girlband flag high with Girls Aloud on hiatus and Sugababes on their way out.
June 20, 20205 yr Their live performances truly became tragic during the promotion of Greatest Hits and What Are You Waiting For! You can tell they couldn’t really be arsed anymore.
June 25, 20205 yr I feel like this one is quite underrated / overlooked in favour of the full-on pop bangers. I really like it! It's a bit like a summery version of 'Issues'. Just checked out the critical reception on Wiki - yikes, they were harsh! :(
June 25, 20205 yr Frankie was the lead singer, I'm not surprised :kink: This is fine, it just doesn't quite go where I need it to. Towards the bottom of their singles discography ngl
June 25, 20205 yr The acoustic version is lush  I think Missing You gets a lot of hate because it missed #1 and was released instead of Higher. The amount of promotion Missing You got was the most I’ve ever seen an artist get but it mainly before it was released and it even got to 99.7% on Livepopbars before it started free falling and ended up debuting at #3. I still feel like Higher would have somehow been even bigger had it been released as the lead but in general Missing You was a good album seller and Headlines was a huge success. Missing You is very overrated and when you hear it for the first time in a while it still sounds a bit fresh in comparison to their other singles!
June 25, 20205 yr They’re still managing 1.3m listeners a month on Spotify which is pretty good! Issues has now managed to pass 10m streams and What About Us has now managed to pass 35m streams... almost 1m behind Higher Current Top 10 atm What about us Higher Ego When love takes over (lol) Issues Disco Love All fired up (FINALLY) Greatest Hits Megamix Just Can’t Get Enough Up notorious !!! Missing You! (Would be nice if this can climb a bit too)
June 26, 20205 yr They’re still managing 1.3m listeners a month on Spotify which is pretty good! It's pretty insane they have more monthly listeners than Girls Aloud. Missing You is such a bop  Definitely one of their most underrated songs, as it seems a lot of fans don't enjoy it that much. Perfect summer song and it will always remind me of my trip to London during the release week.
July 5, 20205 yr “I miss them all a lot,” she says. “I get very nostalgic especially at this time of year because it is now 13 years since we all first met and started as The Saturdays. I miss strutting around in heels on stage as well. I am still in touch all the time with all the girls so when the time is right, I wouldn’t rule out a reunion.” Una giving us the closest hope yet. https://www.google.ie/amp/s/amp.independent...n-39340032.html Edited July 5, 20205 yr by P@ul

July 16, 20205 yr Their live performances truly became tragic during the promotion of Greatest Hits and What Are You Waiting For! You can tell they couldn’t really be arsed anymore. It's funny because I grew up with The Saturdays being the only girl group on the scene and was a huge fan (still am)..but when you watch Little Mix, Fifth Harmony and GRL performances you really see just how bad The Sats were. Like, they had a seriously strong discography + were lovely people + they always nailed their acoustics but even The Honest Vocal Coach was constantly criticising them and looking unimpressed while she was blown away by other girl bands. They just never seemed to have that fire inside them to become the worlds biggest girl band. Fifth Harmony get stick for their drama and their out of sync choreography which is fair enough but you saw those girls perform for their lives. They worked their asses off performing in malls and doing tiny gigs to build up a fanbase and even when they were travelling the world and performing to black curtained arenas you still saw them (kinda minus Lauren) being so extra and dramatic and putting 100% into every dance routine and vocal. Little Mix are pretty much the perfect girl band and have everything from vocals to dancing to stage presence on lock. Girls Aloud weren't great vocalists but you saw the energy in their performances and their tours were huge because people knew they could put on a show. GRL were like world class performers before they released their debut single. Then you re-watch The Saturdays and it's just painful. Frankie and Mollie are weak singers, Vanessa's voice was cracking for half their run, Una and Rochelle were inconsistant and then there was all the out of sync dancing, awful pre-recorded 'live' vocals and they just looked so bored half the time. Their Tumble performance was supposed to be a celebration of their Greatest Hits and they had a tour to promote and yet they just stood there? Even half their 'good' performances I've watched back and still aren't nowhere near the standard they should be. EDIT - Wow at Una getting a top 13 smash in Ireland this year. Biggest solo Saturdays hit!! Edited July 16, 20205 yr by shadow2009
July 21, 20205 yr Una has moved back to Ireland and has been teasing something exciting coming soon. I can see her releasing another album, focusing on the Irish market and continue an Irish television and radio career. On a side note, I’m still confused why The Saturday’s artist page was taken away while there is still an artist page for Girls Aloud. The Popjustice page is constantly active, The girls are fairly busy, The Saturday’s social media pages are still active and a reunion is still possible with 3/5 of them meeting recently. July 21, 20205 yr LOL @ them talking about their schedule and not realising how busy they would be when they first started. Their biggest tour was 14 dates in the UK, their promo was morning TV shows once every few months and their music videos were one day affairs in studios and on beaches.

When they come back with a #1 smash this year the forum will have to return anyway x
