I was at my local HMV this morning and a person in front of me in the queue was buying Now Timeless and the guy that works there told the person that it’s one of the most blandest albums Now have ever made. I thought that if the person waits a few months, they’ll find it at their local charity shop

The new Now Timeless seems to have been removed from iTunes as it was up for pre-order

Bit rude of the member of staff to judge an individual purchasing an album from their own shop. The staff should be encouraging the purchase, not discouraging it, haha! Sales a sale at the end of the day!

But yeah, I can see it being another charity shop item for £1.

I thought that too and I also heard the staff member saying that they prefer the yearbooks and numbered series but at the end of the day, when a staff member is discouraging a sale of a pointless spin-off, that’s saying something. I hope the next announcement is another eras album just before they announce extra 1985-1989

Agreed, but I had this happen to me in HMV last year when I was buying the 30th anniversary edition of Take That's Nobody Else. The cashier sneered and said something like 'oh dear, are Take That still a thing?'.

As the last major music chain left on the high street I don't want it to close but they need to really excel at service to survive, which some branches don't really.

Never had that at all with HMVs i've been to, guess it depends on the branch and the staff member.

Actually i did have rude response some years ago , think it was HMV Pavillions in Birmingham which is long gone now.

It was nothing like above just the female cashier being annoyed it's that long ago i can't quite remember what happened

just i remember her being a bit ratty.

But overall i've had no trouble at all with staff.

Intrigued as to why The Ballad Of Lucy Jordan by Marianne Faithful has now appeared on both Now Timeless albums as well as Now That's What I Call Gold - The Ultimate Hits.

I'm not disputing it's a great song but it only got to No.48 in the first place, surely another of her tracks could have been used on the other albums?

I'm amazed they doubled up any songs at all on the Now Timeless albums (it's not like there's a shortage of songs considered classics), but the ultimate crime on the new one is to not include any Eternal songs on this album that has the ridiculous subtitle 'The Eternal Collection'.

Hey, isn't @nowmusic1993 going to keep up with those NOW versions? He left off at 36 if I recall.

Looks like the next Eras release will be subtitled Feels Like Heaven and will probably feature synth pop/New Wave music of the early to mid 80s. The Now mole on the Facebook forum who always leaks the album news early liked my comment suggesting it could be this in response to him posting the song Feels Like Heaven by Fiction Factory as a clue.

I saw that and I hope it’s actually an eras album and that it includes songs that haven’t appeared at all and missed the released yearbooks. If they wanna do something pointless, do it as an eras and it might help to sell. I hope they don’t announce anything next week and for them to announce extra 1985-1989 the week after
