I have a theory that music like that does well when there is no direction in the business. Like James Morrison and Paolo Nutini had a run before everything went dance. This year has been very dry and its not like there is a massive musical trend so that allows middle of the road, stuff to overplay.

No I would say put the song on repeat for an hour and see if it clicks. I got it straight away and knew it’d be big and even after it’s huge people still don’t get it but that’s music some people just have different vibes

If you need to put a song on repeat for an hour to make it click then it's probably telling you the song isn't really your cup of tea

Ooh just noticed that- "Takedown" is on the album but guessing because it's credited to TWICE it gets a pass from the OCC?

'Takedown' being allowed into the chart is kind of a sledgehammer to my theory from last week about what the OCC do about the 3 track rule re soundtracks. It's looking more and more like the answer really is they just make it up as they go along. x

I suppose there is some logic in that TWICE are not part of the cast of the film so they get to count separately while the rest of the soundtrack is being lumped together as being by the primary artist 'KPop Demon Hunters Cast' but it is all so arbitrary. Also lol that the TWICE version of 'Takedown' gets to appear in the chart while the more popular HUNTR/X version is starred out because of whatever logic the OCC are working off! (Though that would still be the case even if the 3 track rule was being fully applied by artist as it's only the 4th most popular HUNTR/X track). Likewise with the YUNGBLUD version of 'Changes' being in the chart while Black Sabbath's sold more but is starred out, what are the odds of two of these cases happening at once x

The way Huntr/x are credited is exactly the same as how Eurythmics are credited on compilations
