Tonight’s spoiler is out and it’s one for the history books!

This series has been so chaotic and frantic! What a ride it’s been and still two weeks away from the final!!

Just goes to show one bad week and you’re out! Well not bad, but I think Amber was leagues ahead of the others and Bal was 2nd for me, Karen was easily the worst, toss up for Lewis or George in the bottom with her but both of those would have stayed over her. I do like Karen and wasn’t fussed on Lewis though he is far too put together and leaves me a bit cold.

I think the format somehow needs an overhaul though, it’s absolutely crazy that Amber can do a dance like that and be so much better then everyone else on the night yet end up in the bottom 2. It’s happened with Tasha and Ashley Roberts too but iirc both of those were in a semi final with a 40 and a lower scoring dance, but Ashley in her case was still top of the leaderboard. Maybe the top scoring celebrity is automatically safe, there’s enough variation on the scoreboard that it won’t be the same person every time anyway.

I’ve just had a look and the following people have been bottom despite topping the leaderboard:

Karim Zeraoui (week 10, series 17)

Ashley Roberts (semi final, series 16)

Alexandra Burke (joint top, week 11, series 15)

Natalie Gumede (semi final, series 11)

Patrick Robinson (joint top, week 11, series 11)

Ricky Whittle (semi final, series 7)

Emma Buxton twice!! (Weeks 9 and 10, series 4)

Denise Lewis (semi final, series 2)

Zoe Ball (semi final, series 3)

I guess at the semi that format would be kind of broken, but this case with Amber being 5 points clear of everyone and in the bottom is crazy to me 💀 This is the only case of a perfect night of all 10s making it into the bottom.

The 3 couples on a tie effectively rendered Amber topping the leaderboard redundant. She got 5pts, 3 of them got 4pts and then Karen 3pts. She was so much better than everyone else - which I guess you'd expect her to be, especially for musicals week - but as 3 couples were of 35 it kinda meant noting. It was a silly DO though as this year would be kinda dead dance-wise without Amber and Lewis.

It would be good if the ties could be broken before the vote opens - that or the judges use more paddle's than 8, 9 or 10 at this stage.

Saying the above though - amazing for Bal to make it through without a dance off. She's had such a ride, that it must've been such a great moment for her and Julian.
