No one would do that as it would split peoples attentions between the two and then someone else nabs that num 1 spot because your sales/streams are split.

could just mean the album is most similiar to rep out of all her albums

She could drop an extra 5 albums and this would still get to number 1…1 million % 😂

The album is starting to leak, I’ve heard the pre-chorus, chorus and verse of ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ now o.

I'm so, SO excited for this. I've missed pure-carefree pop Taylor! As much as I do enjoy her more "deep" and "sentimental" albums, pop Taylor is still undefeated for me!

AHHHH!

Someone on Popjustice: "I personally don’t think any of it sounds bad, but it’s definitely not the big glossy pop album that it was being framed as via the visuals and the constant “produced by Max Martin and Shellback” on every social media post."

So it's basically the same old, same old (Midnight, TTPD etc.)

Im gonna wait for the actual thing 🤣 a lot of those negative comments on popjustice sound like bitter Taylor haters 🤣🤣🤣

Just like your posts when it comes to Taylor then (in fact 95% of the pop girlies releases)? 😁 I've noticed this for a while now and you're ALWAYS there/the first to comment something even slightly negative or pessimistic about them, but NEVER anything when it's positive or successful. You seemingly also manage to make your most positive posts about their projects, a focus on the negative side of it all. It's just weird behaviour.

Back to Taylor, you're clearly not a fan anymore (and that's ok, I promise!). So why are you still following her every move? She's clearly not appealed to you in quite a few albums now. What makes you want to listen to it and be like "oh I must continuously post that I hate this" or "I must post and point out that she is under performing/flopping"... listen to it, if it's not your thing critique it and move on. I don't get what the point is in fixating on the negative of everything ALL THE TIME.

Those wasn't my words - it was just an observation of what people are saying after hearing the leaks. But yes, TTPD wasn't for me at all so I will be disappointed if TLOAS is like that. Midnights was a bit better and at least 12 tracks will help with cohesiveness.

The Fate Of Ophelia is exactly what I wanted from her, feels like if a Folklore song was on 1989 a bit? Disco-y bop but it has a bit if that folky chamber pop feel to the melody at times.

Actually Romantic is pathetic though and everything that everyone dislikes about Taylor and slags her off for in a song, there is just no need at all and a terrible song to boot.

Have skimmed the leak and it definitely feels more Rep by way of TTPD than 1989 and I don’t mean that as a positive resllt lol, but it’s not HQ and I will have a proper listen before judging properly

I think Taylor is caring about the UK charts. All those radio stations! Defo UK and US are her focus

I heard a snippet of 'Actually Romantic' and although the song itself isn't great, I'm glad to see her not just letting nasty comments towards her slide and fighting back somewhat.

If the leaks are real and this is targeted at Charli XCX then Taylor completely missed the point of Charli's song. Honestly disappointed

Don't like to speculate, especially without even hearing the song, but if it is true it just seems like the standard people hating on her for actually caring how someone else has spoken about or treated her, is she not allowed human reactions afterall

She's not allowed to retaliate/respond how she wants to respond, ofc. It's only allowed to work one way for her.

(This is the last I'm speaking on this until the album drops tomorrow - and I'm not sure I will even respond much more after my proper thoughts on the track coz the track itself really isn't all that tbh - bear in mind I've only heard the first 30 seconds or so)

Charli never even mentioned Taylor or said anything that bad 😭 it's giving Nicki Minaj levels of juvenile, I expected better!

Agreed, for me it’s two completely different responses. Charli wrote a nuanced and honest portrayal of jealousy and self-doubt, it’s more about her anxieties and insecurities. If it is about Taylor which I do think it is, it’s not saying anything bad about her, to me Sympathy Is A Knife reads that Taylor is kind of a figurehead for what she wishes for in a way, what she feels she SHOULD be, especially if you think she was a much smaller artist and kind of just a niche gay fave before Brat, and it’s unflinchingly honest to admit those dark thoughts of self doubt like that. It’s not like a diss track completely ripping her apart.

Of course Taylor can respond but I don’t see how anyone can see/hear those lyrics and think they are anything but absolutely laughable at best. For somebody who is capable of the songwriting she is capable of, this is juvenile and embarrassing.

Yes exactly. It sounds like a petty teenager wrote it, not the songwriter of the century . And now this is going to get people to go after Charli XCX and get her song completely wrong as wrong as Taylor apparently has.

Isn't part of the cinema experience explaining the meanings behind every song, who knows everyone could be proven wrong 🤷
