Mostly because I dont tend to think too deep about the subject and the lyrics and i really like the beat AR is actually one of my favourite on first listen 🤣🤣 overall though I echo previous sentiments its gonna take a few listens, its not bad but its not this huge album of the century its been promoted as, TTPD was the same took me about 3 or 4 listens to appreciate it and ut to grow on me , other than AR , TFOO and TLOAS are the standouts on first listen

I must say I'm really disappointed in her over the 'Actual Romantic' thing, she knows the power and influence she has and it's like she's inviting her fans to dogpile on to Charli ☹️ It's a bit irresponsible knowing how vicious her fans can be.

I am waiting to listen at the cinema.

I can see your reasoning but you may ne missing out on part of the experience if you dont first

I want to listen to it for the first time with the cinema speakers. At home I feel like I have to listen to music quietly or my neighbour bangs the wall , he will have a hissy fit.

I can see your argument but people are going to be talking about it before the experience too, like i say its personal choice if was me I would listen a few times first

When Nicki is on your side you know you've messed up lmaoooo

The album is just disappointing mostly. Some nice production and the lead single is really good but the rest is just poor lyricism and this time round doesn't feel like she really has any significant to say?

I'll take away the first half of the album (up to and including Ruin The Friendship) and the title track at the end. I actually really enjoyed all of these in different ways.

Not sure what the 7-11 section is all about, apart from Wood maybe.

So, I had seen some of the memes about the lyrics on insta etc, and was super confused as I was just not hearing those at all.

Turns out my first 3 playthroughs, I had been listening to the non-explicit version 🫣

Now time for playthrough 4 with a bit of filfth!

My thoughts this stage are, I love it! I had convinced myself there would be some sort of deluxe being released as well like her last couple of releases, but it's quite refreshing only having 12 tracks - let's me get engrossed in each song and actually remember them.

Early favourites are The Fate of Ophelia, Elizabeth Taylor and Father Figure.

Onto 4th listen and yeah its grown on me, still in the lower half of her discography for me which is not a bad thing considering I love every album 🤣🤣🤣

I dont want to clown but does anyone else feel like this is like an Act 1 album and we might get another next year before she tours again, like i believe this is and will only be 12 tracks but to me TLOAS feels like an end of part 1 kind of track so we may or may not have another folklore/evermore situation

The standard edition is £2.49 on iTunes! I’m guessing it’s mistake but that’s a crazy mistake to make 🤣

I think the problem with the album is she is leaning so heavily into the showgirl aesthetic and was hammering home the point that the album was written during the tour so I was anticipating more of the songs to be about that, the only song that really covers that is the title track and then the album is over :/ it is getting better with each listen but right now it is easily bottom of her discography, too many cringey/ clunky lyrical moments for me

She's going for the record 🤣🤣

This is very... uninteresting? Even Evermore grabbed me more than this at first listen. The whole showgirl thing is more about the aesthetic instead of the music.

If she hadn't said infectious pop melody's with folklore lyrics I'd might appeciate this album more but is she kidding? Folklore lyrics, where?? This is like her weakest lyrical album to date.

Infectious pop melodies, yeah I guess but not as grand as she made it seem. All the promo pointed to it being bigger then it was.

I do like that the theme of a Showgirl is present throughout and I could be wrong but is this the least romance tracks on an album of hers? I liked that the subject matter was so much more varied then her usual stuff.

My first time ranking:

Life of a Showgirl 10/10 the melody, Sabrina! Them together? Loved it.

Eldest Daughter 9.5/10 the sound i love

Ruin The Friendship 9/10 damn this felt more like a track 5 then the actual track 5.

Elizabeth Taylor 8.5/10 a vibe

Wood 8/10 Freaky Taylor is fun

The Fate of Ophelia 7/10 catchy

Father Figure 6.5/10 Taylor is the Mafia now?

Opilate 5.5/10 yeah its alright soundwise

Cancelled 4/10 this could be a grower

Actually Romantic 3.5/10 kinda liked the sound but her worst lyrics of all time possibly.

Honey 3/10 forgettable

Wish List 2/10 bored!

Critics aren't a biggest fan, neither are the general public that I've seen of but some swifties are just completely delusional. Been watching reactions and I can't believe these people think this album is this good. 10/10 and no skips? Are they kidding? I understand loving it but to say its perfect, how? No-one can say this is her best surely

What happened to this lyrical genius is what I want to know.
