November 20, 2025Nov 20 That is quite a poor top 5 on the whole but saved by 'Human'!It was great to see Girls Aloud still scaling new commercial highs with 'The Promise'. 'Hot N Cold' has really grown on me over the years after dismissing it a bit at the time. 'Womanizer' also pretty good even if I still haven't shaken off the Chris Moyles parody version 'Lorry Driver' 'Infinity 2008' is probably my biggest highlight of the bottom half, I actually think it improves the original.
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Four songs from top 20 were # 1s in my chart (Promise, Hot And Cold, Womanizer, Keeps Gettin' Better),'Infinity 2008' is awful.
November 20, 2025Nov 20 Author Liked pretty all of that top 10 aside from X Factor though that was the best of their ensemble hits tbf. 'If I Were A Boy', 'Human', 'Hot N Cold' and 'Infinity 2008' my main faves there and Alesha's track was fun. I did forget about her 2006 chart stuff for a while when she was charting at this time and thought it was her first solo hit oops. 'The Promise' also I remember liking but then ended up going off a lot but I like it again now when I hear it out and about. From the newbies outside, a great Lemar track that and was rooting for it to be higher but alas. Duffy's also pretty good but her weakest track by this point and Nickelback's is a tune too but an unpopular opinion with them as always lol.

November 20, 2025Nov 20 'Run' also started as a live performance for BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge back in 2007. There was constant demand for the cover so it eventually got a studio version and released as a single a year later.

February 27Feb 27 Author Didn't realise Good Charlotte charted low top 20 and then jumped to 8. Would have assumed it debuted there!

February 27Feb 27 Some good Clubland classics in this chart, I bought the Kira song and really like the covers by Rezonance Q and Aquagen. I can't really remember the Dee Dee follow up, even relistening to it now, but loved Forever from the year before.Lose Yourself was certainly lingering around! I think the Good Charlotte climb was attributed to the slow chart week and some sort of issue with the CD, according to Julian's source. On 30/03/2021 at 17:32, Julian_ said:James Masterton said at the time that the weird chart run for Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous had been attributable to barcode problems preventing some early sales registering correctly. Also it was a pretty dead week when it moved 20-8. Edited February 27Feb 27 by gooddelta
