Biography

Sabrina Carpenter has made the transition from teen-TV star to pop-dominating force look remarkably easy. It helps that the actor and singer-songwriter—born in 1999 in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania—pursued both sides of her career in tandem, releasing music while establishing a regular presence on the Disney Channel and through other acting gigs, including on Broadway. And on her first two albums—2015’s Eyes Wide Open and 2016’s EVOLution—Carpenter set herself apart from her teenage peers with her deft delivery and her eagerness to embrace plenty of dance music sounds. Singular Act I and Singular Act II—a two-part album that dropped in 2018 and 2019—provided yet more proof of her fast-developing abilities as a singer and songwriter who had moved past teen-star stereotypes to become a full-fledged club powerhouse. Later, Carpenter stepped back sonically to express herself more personally, as on the intimately acoustic “skinny dipping,” from her fifth album, emails i can’t send. Still, the sheer fun of it all has never waned. Just listen to one of the many ad-libbed outros in her live performances of the album’s pop hit “Nonsense,” or indeed the lyrical playfulness of “Espresso,” the flirty funk banger that became summer 2024’s defining hit—and which provided Carpenter’s official breakout moment. Next came the Jack Antonoff-produced “Please Please Please” (which became the summer’s second-biggest hit) and her sixth record Short n’ Sweet, a showcase of the most winking, witty music of Carpenter’s career so far. But if it saw the newly crowned pop princess take aim at past relationships, it also saw her take aim at herself. “A lot of what I really love about this album is the accountability,” she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “I will call myself out just as much as I will call out someone else.” - Apple Music

DJ Khaled and Post Malone featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again

Brother

2nd single from Aalam of God

Released: 29th August 2025

Label: DJ Khaled Productions

Biography

Mogul, entrepreneur, DJ, producer, “the hip-hop Quincy Jones”—DJ Khaled has no shortage of ways to describe himself. And he has consistently demonstrated his knack for connecting the right superstar talent with the right tracks, matching his ambition with equal amounts of hustle, swagger, and exuberance. Born Khaled Mohamed Khaled to Palestinian immigrant parents in New Orleans in 1975, Khaled started out as a radio DJ in Miami before forging fortuitous early connections with the hip-hop scene and releasing a string of guest-packed albums beginning in 2006. But while those early efforts gained him growing respect in the rap world, it was 2016’s Major Key that made him a force on the pop charts. The following year’s Grateful hit even bigger, pairing the likes of Beyoncé and JAY-Z; Rihanna and Bryson Tiller; and Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne. Yet, Khaled is more than just a savvy matchmaker who revels in laidback vibes, a luxury lifestyle, and siren-like announcements of intent. He is capable of surprising range, including more hard-hitting club joints along the way. He has also made sure to pay his dues to his faith, naming his 2022 album GOD DID while pulling off mind-boggling feats like pairing Eminem and Kanye West on a track produced by Dr. Dre. “Some of these things that came in, it’s a gift,” he tells Apple Music. “It’s a gift from God, and the gods.” And Khaled continues to do the very best work with those gifts. - Apple Music

Weird that they'll call Saja Boys their actual name but HUNTR/X are just "KPop Demon Hunters" to Radio 1. Producers make sense challenge

Looks like this might be the last week at #1 for "Golden". Next week will either be Olivia or Sabrina, in my opinion.

If i had a nickel for every time this year that #1 was predicted to come down to Sabrina going up against one of her tour openers, I would have 2 nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

That's what I've been saying! K-pop Demon Hunters is the name of the film, HUNTR/X is the name of the girl group!

I think the credit looks confusing to anyone who hasn't watched the film - "HUNTR/X/EJAE/AUDREY NUNA/REI", the official OCC credit, makes it look like HUNTR and X are different artists! lol Obviously no idea whether James or the other Radio 1 DJs have seen the film or not though.

Nah Ravyn Lenae is going to in a few months. They went head to head in manchild's 2nd week at #1, after ordinary went on ACR

well done OCC, your chart rules designed to assist fresher music denied two brand new top 40 entries in favour of ancient songs that have already been big hits clap

I get the oasis tour resets as it’s one of the genuine moments of the year in terms of bigness but Coldplay your every other year lol!

Totally agree - while the resets for the Oasis songs which already had them last year were certainly questionable (and 'Wonderwall' charted in 2022/23 so perhaps shouldn't even have had one last year), they've reformed and toured after 15+ years in which time they haven't released any new music, and the Oasis songs reset are representative of their return to the wider public conscience.

Whereas Coldplay have been touring and actively releasing new albums regularly including one only last year which produced two Top 20 hits, and meanwhile the two songs reset yesterday have barely left the Top 100 for any significant length of time over the last year or more - and as Maestro mentioned elsewhere, it appears they didn't even have a 25% increase! I can't see any sense in those resets, and with such a small real boost there's little for them to lose beyond their usual streaming levels which means they could well be avoiding ACR for a long time to come - the saving grace being that with summer ending and no more bank holidays the market should hopefully stay reasonably stable for them to drop at a faster rate.
