Pointless was a #1??!??!

I imagine this would also probably be a "pointless" answer in the category "Lewis Capaldi singles" on the gameshow of the same name.

  • Pointless' wacky chart run is responsible for the signed CDs not counting for the singles chart I believe?

  • He would need to match or come very close to the first week overall numbers of 'Survive' to even be in contention for #1 this week so given the streaming is looking to be a lot lower that means he'd h

Wasn’t expecting Raye to be top 3 (and stick there for a second day!) but SO deserved! Hopefully a Top 5 officially at least !

Big jumps on spotify for KDH too, HID very close to YI does YI still go to acr next week if it drops even if HID takes over officialy ?

I think yes it would still go to ACR. But I’m pretty sure “Your Idol” is still well ahead across all platforms.

Great for RAYE! Here for her getting a second big solo hit.

Erm. After what he did?

Good news for the OCC is Romantic Homicide and Here with Me (just) are ineligible for resets.

Feel It on the other hand should get one.

You never know with the OCC

Not sure they’ll be rushing to give resets here like they were with Oasis and Coldplay

Don't forget accusations can ruin a man's career...

But I'm not surprised at this point. I'm not buying the "people are curious" excuse either. When you see the headline attached to his name are people REALLY that inclined to think "Oh I must check out some of his stuff"...??

Female stars specifically get "cancelled" for absolutely NOTHING... but things like this happen and they receive boosts in streams/sales of their discographies... I suspect he's got a lot of people behind him who will be "FREE D4VD" just like they're doing for R Kelly and P Diddy etc.. Ugh.

Today’s the 21st September. Earth, Wind and Fire’s “September” reached #41 on Spotify last year on this date, wonder where it will get to this year.

He's hardly a well known artist for the general public... i really believe that people are just checking what kind of stuff he has done

Yeh, can’t remember P Diddy getting many streams after his alleged behaviour,

diddy and r kelly were long past their prime when the allegations came out so that’s probably why they had no noticeable boost from it whereas d4vd’s hits are a lot more recent (with one of them having a quite obvious new darker context)

ie it’s basically the ymw melly situation again - people do be trash

Yeah tbf i knew who Diddy was D4vd I dont and dont really plan on it but I can understand curiosity streams to see how good or terrible he actually is

d4vd also had huge streaming numbers even before all this. He has 36.8m monthly listeners, and that number wasn’t much different a week ago.

I take those numbers with a pinch of salt as they are worldwide, he only had 1 album and 2 eps here which didnt chart and only 2 songs actually chart ( 2 or the 3 climbing)

True, but those 3 particular songs are certified Platinum, Gold & Silver in the UK already.

All 3 did chart - ‘Feel It’ didn’t make the Top 40, but hung around for ages in the Spotify chart.
