  • Q4 used to be good because of stocking fillers but now in a streaming dominated chart not so much , only really big artists tend to sell huge on the physical format these days

  • Yeah, it did make me chuckle when I heard that line

Thats very true and it changes what was really just a cheeky joke.

While unlikely lets hope he can manage a 2nd week in the top 100 this week.

The mids coming soon should give us a good idea if it will happen or not.

Such a bad album, especially ‘Yesterday’s News’.

Number 69 in todays mids so with some luck he might hold on, in the top 100 for this week.

That's much better than I was expecting.

Olly won't be anywhere as big as he was in the early to mid 2010s. He's lost a lot of fans and hype over the years.

I think that's pretty standard for someone from a reality show though. His 2010-2014 or even 2016 years were hugely success. Probably only matched or bettered by Little Mix and One Direction.

You could probably count on 1 hand (2 at push) the people that were huge in early 2010s that are still as huge in 2025,

Its impressive enough that he sold 10k in itself

Yeah, the industry has changed a lot since 2010-14 and he was probably able to have more "casual fans" than he does now because the industry wasn't so fragmented. Now he's got his core fans but not many outside of that.

Not a big shock but the album isnt top 100 this week, i thought he might just have managed it but sold close enough to 2lk

Now it's like most people either

a. Have forgotten about him

b. Just don't care about his music anymore

I think it's what most if not all of us were expecting. It was great that he still got top 5 with it though.

It's probably the latter. With an artist like him, they just care about the big hits.

He's not in the mainstream as much now. From 2010 to 2014 he was on a roll with the success he was having. He seemed to capture the mood of the nation and what they wanted from pop music as well as he could.

He is also sure to have his money made by now and still maintains enough work to earn an income.
