My other goal was to send a non-recycled artist to appease @Brer, only to be called one of the hivemind We missed you in PFSC, there were a few songs with subtle choruses in the end!It seems like this song has been hawked out all over the place on Spotify playlists and artist radios, and YouTube, so I wonder if Sarah is an artist to watch.

Obviously right now, you can get 7/12 veto points for significant blog coverage but I assume most people discover their music now through playlists. Is there particular playlists that need to feature in this research? It’s much more layered than it used to be and the research I’ve covered probably doesn’t cover the way in which anyone found Fleeting.Talking only for myself, the MUNA aspect didn't really twig when I first heard it and I certainly didn't think we'd be thinking about the same song (Robyn checks out though, but I guess so many pop songs sound influenced by her). I think I did check your personal chart a couple of days back and didn't see it there, but see it entered this week! I only could find a mention of her on the forum before yesterday by Uhsting.I agree the veto rules are ready for revision, with less weighting to blogs and more weighting to big Spotify etc playlists. Also, maybe some stuff about TikTok virality (e.g. a sound used in a certain number of TikTok videos). I would personally also up the veto points/bracket for all artists that have finished top ten in the prior year for reasons I've mentioned before about them having an inbuilt advantage over the field. Will deem this is as "5 or more people" as per the veto framework. 12featured on DIY Magazine and The Line Of Best Fit, amongst other lesser known blogs.appears in 1 personal chart (RobBot).tbh I was really looking forward to listening to the MUNA/Robyn mashup, as I love Robyn, but whatever MUNA does irritates me greatly. I enjoyed 'Fleeting' quite a bit, most likely it would've got some Land of DW points. And yeah, there's a good chance that it would've won.

Sunday at 21:223 days Oh Fleeting is 100% Muna in the production but not so much the vocal which I think is lacking which is a shame, I remember coming across it on a Spotify playlist recently but it went over my head because the vocals didn't really hit for me unfortunately!
Sunday at 21:243 days 13 minutes ago, Addy! said:I follow Obsessed list as well, but I admit I don’t keep up with it…so it must have been in one of the weeks I didn’t listen/check!!!Actually I remember both Debbii and Margaret I picked them up from that playlist My PFSC entry Tommi Aura's Blush came from there (it was in the top spot on the playlist even), and that flopped hard so it's not always a recipe for success oops.

Sunday at 21:263 days Is there even a way to check what Spotify playlists songs are on?Even if there is, I'm not sure that really explains why Sarah Kinsley was apparently so popular. The song has been out for a month and it still has less than a million total streams on Spotify (and she is American, those kind of numbers for a relatively underground UK pop artist would be a different story but as it is it's not exactly screaming '10 people are going to find this song and want to send it'). I think this is a very unique and odd case, definitely nothing like this has happened since I became a mod until now.

I think this is a very unique and odd case, definitely nothing like this has happened since I became a mod until now.You can check an artist's Spotify page and down near the bottom there is a 'Discovered on' category which shows the playlists they are featuring on or have recently featured on.Sarah comes up with about 40 different playlists, so obviously it would be tricky to determine which have most effect, but New Music Friday is clearly one. All New Pop is not one I've ever looked at myself but that comes up as the top one, with nearly 250k playlist saves. Agree it would be difficult to choose which have more and less weighting, but still some of the prominent playlists imo are worthy of more veto points in this day and age than blogs. I remember a decade ago I'd spend about three or four hours a week trawling blogs for new music but I don't use them at all anymore, not even Scandipop </3.A caveat ofc that many of my own entries come from some country's New Music Friday playlist lol, but I don't think just being on a big Spotify playlist would ever be anywhere near cause enough to veto something anyway, it's just one small part of a larger equation. But some of the very big playlists should probably be recognised with a few points at least, guessing NMF Türkiye isn't one of the bigger offenders so I will not sweat too much yet 😆 Edited Sunday at 21:493 days by gooddelta
