I meant the other Christmas Amazon exclusives I'm sure Sam was charting around 50/60 in the official charts at this point?

The album release on the 5th Dec still won't have XMAS until the 12th properly.

I’d be more surprised if it doesn’t - not saying it’s going to be a runaway #1 smash but Amazon’s strong history of Christmas hits, Kylie’s physical buying fanbase that’ll snap up the single variants, UK promo, pop up shop etc., means the focus will be on the UK market.

I can see this being a bit more polarizing than Tom Grennan last year but Kylie's fanbase should be able to overcome the possible struggle in streams.

It's certainly more memorable than Tom Grennan's, I couldn't even tell you how that one goes!

I think it can't really lose with it essentially just being selected by Alexa in the same way the others have each year. I know that seems like a shallow victory it's only #1 or #2 because of that but I'll happily take it.

In fairness Christmas is off to a much slower start this year in general. At this point Wham and Mariah were higher judging by previous threads. I think it's mostly down to the weather it was freezing / frosty and didn't we have snow in some parts of the country?

Should start to climb up a bit more next weekend and then the real test is how it does first weekend in December.

In a way i want it to do as little as possible now to keep it all back for when its fully released so it can go for it in a bang.

I wonder if Kylie was releasing a week earlier would she have more of a chance of number 1 the week before Christmas than the actual Christmas number 1 itself as Wham always get huge numbers Christmas week, or is she better taking the route she is as that is the week Amazon also push hard? Also id love to know is the Christmas number 1 the goal or are they just hoping it does very very well.

well for Kylie its streaming numbers, exclusive album physical sales and also a probably excellent chart position with again single physicals going for 4.99, 12,99 and 19.99. Many artists would love to sell albums for that price !!!

Its all money making, she loves to fleece her fans and we love trying to get her chart positions etc. Its been 'a lifetime' :)

streaming big numbers now wont hurt its chances on release week of single. Now is the time for it to get on Amazon playlists and build up streaming numbers. I don't know how Alexa works but apparently this will help Kylie as people ask Alexa to play Xmas songs and XMAS is played. However she will not have the benefit for XMAS of being played on various other platforms

She is now going to be in UK until at least mid December so will be no doubt making videos/promo stuff for the Festive season.

She will be successful whatever happens
