I really love the original songs on the Christmas albums Gwen, Cher and Leona released.

Secret Santa, Mr Right and Angels in the Snow are some of my favourites ever!

Love that The Ronettes' version of 'Sleigh Ride' from this project has been a U.K. top 40 staple since 2019 and still reached a new peak last year *.*

My other faves. Twelve Songs Of Christmas - Jim Reeves. Parents had it on LP in the 60's and played it to death every Christmas. The Merry Christmas Polka! Have the CD now. Buble's, Mariah, Cliff.

Thanks for all your input guys, some fantastic suggestions. Some I’d heard before, some new, but all great and I’m loving working my way through them all leading up to Christmas!

At the start of my post I mentioned my favourite is ‘The Gritterman’ and wondered if anyone had listened to it?More like ‘Charlie Brown ..’ in that it’s a score for an illustrated book but I can’t stress how fantastic/gorgeous it is, please give it a go!🙏 You won’t regret it!

Just be warned, it may reduce you to tears.

Surprised no one's mentioned Sia's 'Everyday Is Christmas' yet, that's easily my favourite modern Christmas album.

Actually there's another Christmas album I discovered last year, it's called Funny Looking Angels by Smith & Burrows, who are a folk/indie supergroup made up of Tom Smith of Editors and Andy Burrows, formerly of Razorlight and We Are Scientists. It contains 5 covers and 5 original songs. If that sounds like your sort of thing then give it a listen, it's quite a nice chilled indie Christmas album.

Cheers will give it a spin, I think one of the songs from it may be on some of the Christmas playlists on apple.

Yup def one of my favourites, so many good songs on there and yet many hate it for some reason!

I think this is probably my favourite one. I love Aimee anyway and find her voice really unique and comforting. It won't be for everyone as it's not the cheeriest of christmas albums but it is quite a lovely listen. Her original song, Calling On Mary, is one of my favourite christmas songs <3

Oh I forgot about Aimee's one - I really like that too. Her music as a whole is my cup of tea 😁

I really like Whatever but I've yet to hear anything else from her that's anywhere near as good as that for me.

I didn’t get into Aimee until she soundtracked Magnolia but I’ve loved pretty much everything she’s done since. I do have her earlier albums like Whatever and I’m With Stupid but for me Aimee matured as a songwriter and her lyrics got better and better during the 00s

I was obsessed with the Mental Illness album in 2021 and 2022, constantly spun those songs. I've liked every album though.
