The country world feigned surprise when, after three albums of Music Row-indebted songcraft, Taylor Swift formally embraced pop on 2012’s Red. But no one should have been shocked: Any 14-year-old capable of persuading her parents to move from suburban Pennsylvania to Nashville for her career clearly has ambition to burn. And the thrill of following Swift’s rise has been watching her execute it flawlessly, largely because her melodic intelligence is equal to that ambition. Still one of my favourite Taylor songs to date. The lyrics are a bit off but I just love how this sounds so much

As it's the Christmas chart... 'Another Brick In The Wall' has got to be one of my all-time favourite Christmas #1s

Taylor is releasing limited 7" "The Fate of Ophelia" vinyls on 6th January, so I won't be surprised if it returned to #1 that week. Only on sale for 24 hours.

Definitely my favourite from The Life of a Showgirl but I'm another fan of the album, overall I prefer it to TTPD!
