Surprising that the Beatles 1970 song Let It Be did not make the Top 100.

After all it is now Platinum 2X - and that must include many streaming sales (since 2015).

This list is just streams in 2025. This might not have been the best year for ‘Let It Be’.

I am guessing the omissions are down to the tracks not being singles, so their only release came after downloads were available. On the BPI site, Let Down has a 2007 release date and Lover You Should Come Over has 2004.

Then again, The Chain was also not available to purchase before downloads and that is counted, so who knows.

Break Stuff is interesting, it has even charted for 3 days on UK Spotify this year. Never seen any activity for that before.

It's been in the top 25 Rock & Metal charts all year, would guess it's had a boost from them headlining Reading & Leeds plus the death of their bassist. Probably the most unexpected song on the list for me!

Great to see three Fleetwood Mac songs making it, but sad that there will be no Cranberries. ‘Summer of ‘69’ has made it in recent years, hasn’t it?

Four Fleetwood Mac!

Cranberries had a really good year last year and still only snuck in, was going to be hard to repeat. Summer of '69 made it in 23 and 24 but seems to have had a worse year this time.

Interestingly (or at least it’s interesting to me haha), the 11 will be in a slightly different order to the above, mainly reflecting different premium ratio proportions.

I see last year:

97 Cranberries, Linger

91 Bryan Adams, Summer of ‘69

90 Bruce Springsteen, Dancing In The Dark

…all made it as well.

Oops. Yes, four: even better.

And a different Cranberries song comes on top this year.

Linger was a TikTok thing and Brucey benefitted from a boost from the Euros last year. Was in the YTD for a good portion of this year too but lose momentum.

The premium ratio difference between The Chain and Don't Stop Believin' must have been pretty big looking at the YE list!
