Official Charts Report

Fireworks aren’t the only thing set to light up the new year, as the race for the first Number 1 of 2026 officially kicks off.

And early indications suggest that Taylor Swift and The Fate of Ophelia may earn its eighth week at Number 1.

Staying strong during the Christmas period within the Top 40, the record-breaking track is looking to take back its rightful throne.

However, even though the holidays may be over, your 2025 Christmas Number 1 XMAS from Kylie Minogue isn’t letting Taylor win that easily, sitting closely behind at Number 2.

But can RAYE finally take WHERE IS MY HUSBAND! to the top for the very first time after falling agonisingly short of the summit on multiple occasions? (3).

Dave and Tems could find Raindance shooting back into the Top 5 and equal its highest charting position so far (5).

Gwen Stefani’s Shake the Snow Globe has seen a huge surge in popularity lately with that trend continuing as the song tracks to make its debut inside the Top 10 (8).

I Run from HAVEN. featuring Kaitlin Aragon could score a new personal best peak (13).

Zara Larsson and Lush Life has experienced an online resurgence recently and is on course to attain its best charting position since June 2016 (22).

And finally, Tyla’s tune CHANEL which has topped the Official Afrobeats Chart for eight consecutive weeks may make its maiden Top 40 appearance (35).

Resets can happen at anytime sometimes they dont even happen until the friday chart reveal

Also @JosephCarey said there isn't one listed when he wished everyone happy new year (I may be wrong)

No First Look on the schedule, the OCC may post an update but I'm not convinced they will. Midweek info could be sketchy this week!

January resets have tended to arrive during the week, it's varied in the past but they usually appear in at least one of the midweek updates.

Praying RAYE can get a post-Xmas #1!

Interested to see how NYE playlists effects things.

opalite will prolly auto reset next week (so jan 9th) if she releases it as a single

It won’t get 25% I wouldn’t imagine? The only way I can see Opalite getting reset is if the label requests it? But it won’t be anywhere near number 1 anyway

its gonna get a major push any day now. R1 was the indicator

Opalite is the second single from the album, so I expect a reset.
