Posted January 5Jan 5 Did anyone watch this on ITV last night? Quite good. US show first. 81 players on a floor in 9 rows of 9 squares. Each has a topic but they're chosen at random and answer their opponent's topic to eliminate them from the game with last person standing getting 50k.Was hoping to see the UK No.1's topic answered but it wasn't this week.
January 5Jan 5 I’ve seen various clips from the US version on TikTok and have really enjoyed them. I didn’t realise until last night that this is what it was gonna be a UK version of Really enjoyed it though, looking forward to seeing how it all plays out! And I don’t know if it’s just me or if the pressure would get to you in there but the chocolate round in particular, some of the ones they passed on or answered incorrectly…
January 5Jan 5 The Australian version was really fun, I really appreciated the person who got rid of all of the yapping and ‘where are you from?’ etc. and came up with that 3-hour edit of the entire series.
January 6Jan 6 I can see this becoming a sleeper hit. Eight quick duels during the show on a variety of subjects mean that if you’re not a fan of one category, you’re never more than a few minutes away from one topic you do like. There’s a good amount of strategy going on which should start to develop over the series (eg if you inherit a category you have no clue about, you may be more inclined to challenge other contestants to play topics you may prefer, however the bigger your floor gets you have a greater chance of getting challenged yourself). Plus, for a gameshow, it very much succeeds in the audience “shoutability” factor. The questions do seem well pitched for both contestant and viewer - I did find it a surprise that I was able to identify more people than I expected in the “Fashion” category. One thing I’ll be interested to see is how categories involving music categories play out. None were played in the first episode (although I did see “The Beatles” and “UK #1s” as potential categories), I wonder if these will be “identify the picture” as per other categories, or will it be “identify the song or band”. So after 1 episode, I am already hooked, and I’m excited to see what stories develop among the contestants, especially those who have started building up some prime territory.
January 11Jan 11 I'm getting into this. Took a little while to wrap my head around the format. Gather it's one that becomes particularly interesting when it gets to the tail end.
January 12Jan 12 Ben that got eliminated being cocky taking on the musicals against the woman was so satisfying I can’t lie
January 12Jan 12 Still surprised we’ve gone 2 episodes without any of the music categories being picked, so still waiting to see how those categories will be played (“Musicals” was as mentioned above, but I expected it to be more visual anyway). Also starting to see territories starting to get bigger very quickly, so things are getting exciting. I’m presuming that once all contestants have duelled at least once, they then pick randomly from those with 2 squares?
January 12Jan 12 I'd hate to be on this, eith thr floor opening up and makin you fall if you get eliminated!!

January 12Jan 12 Asanda only got one question right in her round (Moguls) and that's only because she was on Britain's Got Talent and therefore performed in front of Simon Cowell. 😄She was also in the running to represent the UK at Eurovision in 2018.
