'Rein Me In' has set a new record of 48 weeks in the Top 40 while on SCR (at any time, not just in one run). If it avoids next week, it will complete a whole year.

Shame that New Religion couldn't quite get to the top 40 in time. Hope that RMI finally goes DCL-3 next week, despite the heatwave.

Shame as the hot/sunny weather is boosting it back up on Apple Music! Maybe it can increase enough to be back on SCR next week? ☹️

Fever Dream And Homewrecker fell by about 3k 2 and 3 weeks ago, no Idea how 3 weeks ago could count as a climb for them hopefully they’ll be onto ACR this wee instead

'FEVER DREAM' was #1 on sales 3 weeks ago, so it's possible that its drop the week after was dominated by pure sales while its streams dropped less than the market, putting it on DCL-2 now.

'Homewrecker' is a baffling one though - its sales in the last 4 weeks have gone 83-42-52-54-79 so it can't have dropped by more than about 100 pure sales per week, not enough to stop its streams declining by more than the market in each of those weeks.

Let’s hope all the weekend BBQs etc throw on HHUK playlist where RMI is #1 🙏🏻

Hopefully, the release of Olivia Rodrigo will help to distract people from Sam Fender. A brand new Olivia song or a Sam song that’s been out for nearly a year? The former. It’s a no brainer. Olivia Dean is at big weekend 🤦‍♂️

All for Olivia going to #1 and all for RMI avoiding ACR.

On that, I’ll say yes to the former and no to the latter

No. Same way regular songs start declining when it’s the Christmas rush. When it’s the Christmas rush, people get distracted from the regular songs. If not a significant drop, then hopefully new songs tend to help songs to at least a minor drop

Why would a Sam/OD fan or someone who likes RMI get distracted by an Olivia Rodrigo song? I’m streaming RMI (and other songs I like) and haven’t even thought about streaming Olivia’s new song or been ‘distracted’ by it

Difference between me and you is I can learn to move on from songs whereas you can’t and last time I checked, Olivia Rodrigo has a bigger fan base than Sam Fender. I’ll tell you something about Sam Fender. If it wasn’t for Now 103, I wouldn’t have heard of Hypersonic Missiles. Rein Me In was also used at last weeks UTK protest in London. Another reason to dislike the song. If he was accused of a crime, would you still support him? And you were probably one of those people that was slating Ordinary when that was number 1

No, I just have a varied music interest and can enjoy music regardless of release date, you should try it you might discover some gems you’ve never heard before.

And nobody is disputing Olivia has a bigger fanbase - not something I usually worry about who has the ‘bigger’ fanbase as I’m not 12.

I’m over the moon though Now 103 introduced you to his music - exactly the purpose Now is intended for by putting lesser known acts between the big hits.

And on the UTK protest that you seem heavily invested in as you’ve mentioned on multiple times, were you there supporting the cause? Have Sam or Olivia publicly supported the cause or celebrated the fact that someone played their music there? The thing with music is it can be played by anyone at anytime at any event - if the artists are not involved does that mean that everyone should stop listening to them?

And your question about being accused of a crime is odd to say the least.

We get you hate RMI, we get you hate streaming, we get you hate anything released prior to 2026, enjoy ‘The Cure’ on repeat - the magic of streaming, you can listen to exactly what you want without worrying about what others chose to stream 🎉

yea no thats more of a you problem if you can't like a song for ages than a them problem but i digress

If you look up Sam Fender and his politics, you'll find he very much does not support causes like this UTK march you seem obsessed with.

The fact you seem to know so much about this rally speaks volumes.

You do realise only 10 streams a day count for each song could easily do both pop over to the next streaming service repeat if we really wanted to and still have spare time 🤷

This tbh - I live in London and had no idea about the protest, or what music was/wasn’t played there.

Same. I was made aware of a now deleted comment where he bizarrely accused me of attending it, despite the fact I wasn't even aware it was happening lol
