I really don't see the problem with "nobodies", it's always the song, not the act, and you hearing of people does not mean they don't have talent. That you never heard of him doesn't mean he's a nobod

  • This year also has the additional notion that anyone with a fan base would surely just be making themselves a lamb to the slaughter, given many are boycotting this year due to Israel’s participation.

Who exactly had heard of Kalush, Nemo, JJ before Eurovision? Case closed.

Yah, obviously the song is terrible and last place, but there's not that much to complain about. BBC has finally taken a risk and sent something different! A risk will pay off one year, and it's good to send different songs and not the same ballads or happy pop year in, year out. An awful song and last place, but a decent entry, if that makes sense

I mean it’s something different… not to my taste but I guess good for trying something unusual 🤣

I either love it or loathe it, I'm still not sure after two listens.

I do think there's something in it sounding so British with a capital B which, not to compare them too much, was at least part of the appeal of 'Space Man' being so 90s britpop coded.

I feel like Austria is more likely to come last than this? This has a bigger hook and better production, so hopefully we can avoid that fate.

It's stayed in my head since listening to it, which is hopefully a good sign. Interested to see how it's staged.

Germany are always in with a shot for last, but she fills the 'girlbop' quota this year even though it's as basic as they come.

I'm reading people's reactions from my country and everyone likes it!!! And it's jumping to their second place! I still haven't had the chance to listen to it yet.

I didn't realise girls aloud were black belts in karate!!! :o when did they all start??

This is SOOOOO Eurovision!! It's exactly like some random track half way through from a country you've only ever heard of at Eurovision.

Going against the grain... listened twice and I like it.

Starts very 80s, moves into 90s a bit. Quirky lyrics with a chant along bit.

Verging on so bad it's good... and I understand why people can so see it coming last place.

But it's such a curveball for us to send this.

The same week BuzzJack launched in 2006.

Download Whole Lotta History on iTunes from 12pm on Saturday.

I can see this growing on me with repeat listens - although can't see it getting anywhere near my fave. Could do well with voting public though

OH, I just listened to the song now and I definitely think this slaps! It’s a great choice for Eurovision a good balance between being alternative while still accessible enough for a wider audience to understand. The German language fits these synths perfectly and it reminds me of the 80s and Berlin.

I think this will get quite a lot of love from Eurovision fans who aren’t “slay girl bop” supporters, since those fans tend to only like that type of song. I really can’t see this finishing last unless the performance is disastrous and he isn’t able to pull it off live.

I like it.

The fact that everyone seems to love or hate it is a step in the right direction and what this type of song is supposed to do. Most reactions to UK Entry’s are usually “Yeah it’s alright” and then come last.

The last 20 seconds or so of this sounds like two songs being played at same time - I thought music had started playing from another app on my phone!

Okay, first half of the song and the chorus that doesn’t hit in nearly as hard as I thought it would with lyrics about pepperoni.

The last minute when the synths get kinda hard and loud and dirty

Still not convinced it’s something I’d ever want to listen to again if it wasn’t our Eurovision entry but there’s something there. Whether it can cut through being annoying to actually being votable for, is another matter.

Has grown on me on 2nd listen. Love the way it runs away with itself towards the end. Think this is just the ticket actually.
