Posted March 13Mar 13 Released on "Previews" this weekend (14th & 15th March) but in cinemas from 19th March.Getting great reviews and looking like one of the more legit cases for "SEE IT ON THE BIG SCREEN!"
March 21Mar 21 Author This is phenomenal, btw!I can not WAIT to see it again. I’m gonna go see this as many times as I can on the big screen. I was just in complete awe, emotional and cheesing so hard at certain scenes due to just being able to witness it on the big screen. Movies like this deserve to be seen on the big screen.Godling is an insane leading man! He’s my favourite actor for a reason.Possibly my favourite Sci-Fi movie of the Decade. Sci-Fi is an odd genre to me coz I always appreciate the spectacle of the film, but often more times than not they can be a bit too heavy/dense and serious. But this is the perfect balance to me.Ugh. Obvz that’s all just my opinion but I do hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
March 21Mar 21 I'm intrigued to read the book as I hadn't heard of it prior, but apparently it's a very faithful adaptation.Really good film, a few slower moments and not the most original overall, but so, so likeable and Ryan Gosling and Rocky makes for an absolutely wonderful on-screen pairing. There was a huge amount of screenings for this so hope it does well and gets people into the cinema as this really needs to be seen on the big screen.
March 21Mar 21 This is going to do very well in box office this weekend in US!!!Projected to launch with 77 million!!!
March 22Mar 22 Author Turns out that this has been an absolute success!I imagine word of mouth is so strong that it's going to hold steady (hopefully something like 50% or less).
March 22Mar 22 Ok, the last time I was in theater was last year for Superman , but I am so hyped to go see this one now!!!
Monday at 20:405 days I saw this tonight and really didn't like it ☹️ I know I'm completely in the minority and I'm kind of shocked it has 4.4 score on Letterboxd (that's just SO high!) but I guess it just wasn't for me. I found it was filled with too many annoying jokes every minute, I wasn't engaged by the story or characters almost whatsoever and I found it overly long. I will give some points for the cinematography, visuals and occasional moment where I was amused by a line. I'm so sorry but overall I was just shockingly frustrated by the movie.
Tuesday at 11:074 days I went to see it completely blind on Saturday and the movie was… okay. I totally don’t get the overwhelming hype around it. It was a lot more FI and very little SCI to me.What I can also definitely say is that it’s NOT Interstellar despite some people claiming it is. LOL. More like a Marvel spin off. Even the messaging was similar and really fits the current political climate in the US - you must die for a greater good if it’s required from you by the government (and it’s okay because it will work out and you won’t die because life is a video game/movie!!1).
Tuesday at 23:294 days I’ve had a friend ask me e to go and see it with them next week. I’m undecided on whether or not to go along with. I’ve heard it’s quite good, but I don’t think it’s really my type of movie. So I’m not sure.
Thursday at 23:422 days Author I've not stopped thinking about this film. It's just everything that I want in a space adventure movie. I've already seen it twice with another 2 trips lined up (one on Saturday with a friend of mine who is also a huge Gosling fan - so we try and see all of his films together) and earlier today, I secured my BFI IMAX ticket in London for April 14th! I really can't wait to see it in IMAX!
Friday at 00:142 days To anyone on the fence, I'd recommend to go. I might have held back due to the long runtime and finding other space movies to be just ok or meh, but was swayed by seeing a lot of positive reactions and this is EASILY the most I've enjoyed a movie with a space setting (thinking back to The Martian, Gravity, Interstellar). There were one or two points during some of the 'space action' where I zoned out a little, but on the whole there's just so much humour and emotion that made it a joy to watch.I'm glad that it has a non-linear narrative, rather than all the scenes on Earth and then all the scenes in space to follow, because I was fully locked in whenever Sandra Huller was on screen. I loved how deadpan she (mostly) was and that provided a lot of the humour for me, as well as Grace and Rocky bouncing off each other. I think that helped it to not feel like it dragged, despite being two and a half hours.I know we're only a third of the way through the year, but I don't think 2026 will find a character better than Rocky.
Friday at 00:222 days I'm meant to be going to see this on April 8 with a friend. We were meant to go on the 1st but had to change our plans.
11 hours ago11 hr They put him in glasses to outline that he's a scientists now and not Ken But it is a good film! I usually don't like these films, Martian etc, but this one works really well.
