Also voted and did the same, and massively surprised myself with my own votes. Really turned out nothing like how I expected, some great discoveries in here which I had to balance with the classics, which isn't easy at all.

I was unexpectedly thrown back to my meandering but sunny lockdown walks when I heard that 1975 song, which evidently I haven't heard in six years.

Maybe the results won't be as much as a foregone conclusion as I expected, but depends how everyone votes and how discoveries are treated.

I appreciate how competitive this round was, but 5 songs particularly stood out to me as a cut above the rest when choosing my votes, so that worked out well.

Random observation: 'Careless Whisper' and 'If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)' was quite a sax heavy back-to-back!

I thought the one from The 1975 was a pretty strong random pick albeit probably not enough to overcome the presumed frontrunners!

A few acts coming with their best so far here, which stands to reason in this live shows or bust situation I suppose!

I get that if your act was eliminated weeks ago you might not be keeping up with this so much anymore. However I won’t be voting for any of the random picks myself as I want the 3 passes to go to acts managed by posters who are still invested in the competition.

Have to say, I did do the same. Its also the second time Girlicious didn't submit a song - sure the week they went out was a random pick as well

George, Toni, Blondie, Conan, Erasure, Eric and more have stellar songs in this round imo. I get some are bigger names but if people genuinely just vote on song and not artists I don’t think it would be so clear cut !

Agreed its mostly strong across the board. Hopefully there is a shock, or two amongst the 3 that progress.

There was a clear 7 or 8 for me, so narrowing it down to 5 was tough, but I got there.

Each category was represented in my votes too.

I’ve voted, also covering all 3 categories. I ended up including 2 lovely unexpected discoveries.

Just re-listened to my song and oh how I adore it (was always going to be my save me song)
