I’ve posted about this in the Say Somethinc. Thread but given its gathering steam and all but confirmed I thought I’d give it its own thread.

Kylie Minogue is expected to be announced as the pre-match entertainment at the 2026 AFL Grand Final on Saturday 26th September. An announcement is expected within the next week.

Usually the Australian posts attract a lot of negative comments however nice to see the GP aussies seem to be behind this.

I think the general consensus is that people are happy to have an Australian artist for the first time in about 5 years. That's no disrespect to Robbie Williams (2022), KISS (2023), Katy Perry (2024)

Oooooh pretty huge gig for her!

It’s massive and whilst she’s not everyone’s cup of tea she certainly has the hits to fill a 4-6 songs set list that would get the crowd moving along.

Of course it hasn’t been confirmed yet, but when the rumours for the previous years performers was this strong they all ended up being true.

We shall see soon hopefully.

Love this for her - ticking off so many big events and firsts to cement her place as pop royalty.

I'll be in with a shot of getting a ticket o the game as well.

If my team make it then I'm pretty much guaranteed one. If they don't then I could still get one, it's just dependant on the two teams playing.

Interesting to see what she will perform or will she go for the usual safe bets.

I know its not going to happen but imagine if a new single was ready in time.

I think it'll be about 4-6 songs, so I'll go in the middle and pick 5.

  • Can Get You Out Of My Head (I think this is the only 100% certain song)

  • Spinning Around or On A Night Like This (If it was a night game I think we'd get the latter and we still may, but for now I'll go with the former)

  • Better The Devil You Know or Step Back In Time

  • Love At First Sight or In Your Eyes

  • Padam Padam or I Should Be So Lucky or The Loco-motion (Depending on whether she wants to do an 80's hit or a more recent one)

  • Where The Wild Roses Grow with Nick Cave (This has it's fans here in Australia and if they can get Nick Cave to appear I wouldn't rule it out)

It's Pre-Game, so she wont be the only artist. I would expect a medley and then PP/CGYOOMH. If anything I am disppointed she wasn't given the half-time slot.

There is no half time slot though, the pre-game is the main one.

Based on previous years Kylie will get a good 4-6 songs on her setlist.

Half time show starts at approx 3.35pm, entertainment followed by the annual sprint. rumours are it will be Tame impala again.

That’s rarely shown on tv though isn’t it?

It doesn’t get anywhere near the hype or coverage of the pre-game one.

It’ll get bigger exposure/reaction in the UK probably - it’ll be all over socials.

As Padam Padam is her most recent big hit i think its pretty much guaranteed to make an appearance.
