I'm finding myself enjoying some BJSC tracks in my playlists but... from contests months ago. Things don't always catch me instantly any more. Same for new releases. The odd one that just sounds like a HIT grabs me right away (FLO Leak It, Lisa's Bad Angel that just released) but others take weeks or months to grab me or require me seeing it in the right reel or soundtracking the right mood or season for me to really be into it (Dracula Jennie Remix, Midnight Sun, Release the Pressure)

Same here. But's it's been happening for a long time for me. I guess I just don't jump at every new sound like when I was 15, because I've sort of heard the mediocre stuff over and over again by this

Same here. But's it's been happening for a long time for me. I guess I just don't jump at every new sound like when I was 15, because I've sort of heard the mediocre stuff over and over again by this point. This means something has to really 'prove itself' for me to like it.

Yes to a certain extent. And I've been finding for quite a while now that as I get older it's often much harder to remember which song is which on an album, for example, like just from the title. Whereas when I was younger, I knew less music so it was much easier to remember these things.

I do here. I used to pretty much listen to new music straight away when I was younger. Now I'm finding myself taking longer because I find myself preferring novelty more.

Very much so. When I was 17 my 40 something driving instructor said you'd expect someone his age to like the oldies on Radio 2 but he loves the new music on Radio 1. I was adamant I'd be the same when I reached my 40s. Then I reached my mid-20s and struggled to like new music even though I tried to like it. Now I'm in my 40s so I guess I'm not supposed to like new music anyway.
