She’s racking those UK number ones rather fast now! It felt like it took an age for her to get one and then again it took a while before she got her second but since Anti Hero she’s racking them up with ease!

I am happy for her though! I feel like both Taylor and to a lesser extent Ariana are amongst the females with most number ones in the UK but most of their actual chart toppers don’t feel like they’re amongst their signature hits!

Very good point, especially with Taylor. When I think of her biggest hits, the ones from 2012-15 none of them hit #1 in the UK.

As I said in the other thread blame her anti streaming stance at the time some of her biggest hits were released

Yes it led to artists being paid more fairly but it also hindered her chart appearances

With how big IKYWT, Shake It Off and Blank Space were, you would’ve thought all three of them went to #1.

I think 'Bad Blood' could've been a #1 if not for the aversion to streaming thing, but I'm not convinced anything else would've been?

'Style' was definitely robbed of a higher peak because of it though, probably top 15.

I had completely forgot the reason for Taylor not going #1 sooner in the UK could partly be because of lack of her music being on streaming for a while.

According to this thread she didn't get any sales number ones from 1989 and Reputation eras.

Not sure how true this is but she had a dominate lead for this week in the US and is expected to stay there with a huge lead in its second week

Driven mainly by physicals and airplay as with streaming its the lowest of the top 5, pretty locked for 2 weeks but 3 may struggle, depends on movie impact and if there's more physicals I guess

You have also got to consider Shake it off and Blank Space were competing with the juggernaut that was meghan trainors All about that base

Which also makes Taylors success even more impressive because most of the pop girlie's from 2014 have seen a consistently downward spiral in Success where Taylor has just got even more popular

Yes the film had its "early screenings" today and its very much an end credit song

Drops from #1 to #11 this week in Australia.

Second week at number 1 in the UK with even higher sales than last week 😮
